I was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. Based on reviews I had read, some of which seem unfair in retrospect, I was cautious. Bottom line: room was clean, the bed comfortable, the water pressure in the shower good, the water hot, and, I was pleasantly surprised to discover that real granola was one of my breakfast choices. (They offer, cereals,... More

We are from Australia with our first epic season pass.We found it difficult to find a place that was anywhere close to the value of the pass until Roost Lodge came to the rescue. Whilst it is not a highend place, our room was a very functional double with an extra twin bed. We were given a microwave and fridge... More

Me my friends recently stayed at the roost lodge in vail and that place was the worst part of my trip. To start they gave us a room facing I-70 and there were huge trucks driving by all night shaking our window. The rooms were really small with only an extremely small microwave to cook in and only 1 small... More

Need a cheap no frills place to stay in Vail? This is your place. Definitely dated (kind of a Hot Tub Time Machine experience) but the room was warm and clean, the water was hot, the beds were comfortable and the staff was friendly. Free parking and a quick trip on the red shuttle bus is also a bonus. Booked... More

Just spent three nights at the Roost Lodge in Vail, Colorado. I received exactly what I paid for ($140 per night) and have no complaints. The room temperature was fine, the shower was hot, the TV was large enough, the sound of the highway traffic was barely audible, and the breakfast consisting of coffee, cereal, orange juice, bananas, and donuts... Although the staff was incredibly nice and helpful, this place is awful. We've stayed in Youth Hostels and cheap hotels all over Europe, and I've never experienced such gross conditions. The room was dirty and freezing (the heaters were barely working, and they did bring us 2 ancient space heaters that we were afraid to use for longer than 20... More

Okay - I realize that The Roost is definitely the cheapest place to stay in Vail, and that being said it is a bargain. For the price, I can tolerate the shabbiness and low level grunge. However, the deal breaker for me is a luke warm hot tub after a long day of skiing! Not acceptable, and for that reason... More

The Roost may be the cheapest place to stay when at Vail, Colorado unless you can find a couch to crash on. If not, be prepared for small rooms, soft beds with aging sheets, and no extra blankets through the front desk. And still have to pay over $100/night. The place is one of the older properties in Vail, and... More

Here is the deal - We got a room for 5 people (we brought a baby bed and our dog, too) and we got 2 double beds. Overall, i was expecting way worse from reading the reviews. It was not that bad, at all! Now, if my baby was still crawling, I would've been more grossed out because the carpet... More
