Gold Lake Resort is no longer in business. Filler, because apparently I have to write enough stuff for their system to consider this a valid review.
My husband and I have stayed here many times and love it! The cabins are very nicely furnished, the dining is supurb and the ambiance amazing. The lake is wonderful for canoeing and fishing, and there are nice hiking trails all around. My favorite activity is soaking in the hot pools on a bluff overlooking the lake. I can sit...

The cabins are deceiving. On the outside, they could use some fixing up, but the inside was incredible. Fine linens, down-filled comforter on the bed, electric stove, lovely hardwood floors. It was very romantic. The property is wonderful and they have sculptures dotted around the lake's landscape.
It's true. the staff have "attitudes." I went up there again recently and...

We had an amazing time. Gorgeous setting, very friendly customer service, amazing local food...it couldn't have been better. The hot tubs that look out over the lake are a highlight. Highly recommended.
True, this place is rustic and pretty but the customer service was terrible. The restaurant staff was kind and friendly....but the receptionist was snotty and rude. We have been 5 or 6 times for weekends at the Gold Lake Resort and love it more each time! My husband loves the fishing and the remoteness.....we both love the restaurant and the cabins, and I love the spa! I would highly recommend this adventure for folks wanting to get away from it all in the Colorado mountains!

My one complaint was that when we got to the property (around noon) we were told the restaurant was not open for lunch since they just checked out a large group who had taken over the whole place for a wedding the couple of days before; well, we...

I have to say it was a fantastic weekend there. We had a wonderful time - restaurant, hot pools, long walks. I've wanted to go back for a while now, but we just haven't had the time yet. I would strongly recommend Gold Lake as a romantic place to stay.
