A lovely historic home which is now an Inn (since 1985). Filled with character, charm and antiques... they have made an effort to make this place feel like the home it once was. The rooms (at least the ones we had) were large and comfy with the best beds! (The third floor has the king size beds - worth the... More

Simsbury 1820 House Review My husband, two-year old daughter, mother and niece stayed at the Simsbury 1820 House last weekend (Nov2-4) for a family reunion. Our family reunion was located at my Aunt and Uncles’ house 20 minutes away. Upon arrival, Sandy the manger checked us into our rooms. Right away I found her to be short, rather irritated and... Quaint hotel, a little worn around the edges, yet very clean. This is a true inn, as opposed to some run-of-the-mill hotel chain. The whole mansion is decorated throughout with antiques, including the rooms. Staff is very friendly (hey, Debbie, thanks for all your great advice about the area!). This place has the feel of a B&B, yet is spacious... More

While a little worn and torn (could use some interior painting and wallpaper refresh), this is a nice alternative to a chain hotel (though you won't find such a think in Simbury but many available near the airport). The house has a lot of character, history, a great location with restaurants within easy walking distance, and a friendly innkeeper and... More

We had a party for my wife's 60th birthday here and it was great. Everyone was great to work with, they had really good suggestions that complimented what we had already planned in intricate detail. Because there were alot of antiques they had to modify some of our decorating ideas but in no case did they reject anything we wanted... More

If you like history and old mansions you will like the Simsbury 1820 House for a short stay. The rooms are decorated with fantastique antiques. Website photos are dated as the inn needs an updating. If you want a King you must climb to the 3rd floor. The Internet connection was not high-speed - either very slow or did not... More

We just returned from a charming and lovely three night stay and were very pleased. The house is beautiful, the grounds immaculate with wonderful landscaping. The staff is very helpful and personable. The breakfasts are in a very cozy room and are ample with fresh fruit, yogurt, wide selection of cereal, bagels, lots of pastries, fruit juice and excellent coffee.... More

I would recommend staying here but be aware of a few things. It is very pretty, the staff is very nice and helpful, but it does need some updating. The wallpaper was peeling in our room, the rug was slightly dirty and worn, and the bed was rather hard. More importantly though were the positive things such as the lovely... More

The house is very characterful. The rooms are comfortable and clean with huge comfy beds (4 posters available) and all conveniences. The breakfast was very good and staff were helpful and pleasant throughout our stay, recommending a restaurant and providing a shuttle for our evening out.

Just returned from a one night stay at this beautiful bed and breakfast. We stayed in a beautiful room on the third floor with a king bed and huge bath. Staff were extremely helpful, breakfast was good and location is gorgeous. I would highly recommend staying here!
