We stopped here going into and leaving Key West. Very shallow water for a long way out so this is great for kids! Also great for snorkeling to see all kinds of critters--jellyfish, lobsters, and all kinds of corals and seaplants. Although not as colourful as the usual coral sealife, this area has other interesting living things such as sea... More

We stayed at Long Key, Curry Hammock and Bahia Honda. Bahia Honda is the nices by far! Nice swimming beaches, boat launch, kayak and snorkeling rental etc. We stayed in 2 spots. #71 was awesome only steps to the the water where you could swim. I caught live mullet with my cast net and had a big blue on till... More

Luckily for the kids and I, Reserve America had one tent space left for two nights and I snatched it at this beautiful state park. I took advantage of the snorkeling trip to Looe Key and it was just amazing! Rented kayaks and went out the the small coral island by the beach which was well worth the money spent!... More

I'll note right away that this rating only applies to the Buttonwood camping area, and really only further applies to tent camping there. The beachside sites looked absolutely gorgeous, but tent camping in the Buttonwood area was pretty uncomfortable. It's all gravel, which is great if you're in an RV or camper, but not fun when you're in a tent.... More

Beautiful grounds, sparkling bathrooms, and very starry skies! Sunsets from the old bridge are a must. Be prepared for seaweed lined beaches that smell very strongly at times. This is a natural beach and nothing natural is removed, including stinky seaweed. We stayed two nights and had some rain, no biggie. Best kayaking is at hurricane hole watersport on the... More

I can honestly say I was completely and pleasantly surprised by Bahia State Park! It exceeded my expectations and then some. Our group of eight, 4 adults, 4 teens, arrived around 11:00 AM and the lots were already full so plan accordingly. The rangers actually closed the park around noon due to no parking spaces! The cost for the 8... More

This was our 4th trip to Bahia Honda SP for spring break but our first staying in the Buttonwood Camp area. We lucked into a waterfront site between the bridges. I read some reviews about these and they were on the mark. I give it 4 stars because we love the park. But the downside to these sites: Road noise,... More

We tent-camped here three nights, in three different sites, in all three areas. The Sandspur sites are the best for my money, despite the no-see-ums. They are secluded, overlook the Atlantic side, and have none of the traffic noise. There are fewer campers using the bathhouse here, too. Buttonwood area is OK. They've tried to design it for privacy, and... More

This campground offers sites with water and electric hookups for RVs and dumping station in the Buttonwood area and primitive no-hookup tent campsites facing Sandspur Beach. All campsites offer far more space and privacy than any of the commercial ones that we saw on the main Route 1 highway. Charcoal grills and picnic tables are included. A few Buttonwood RV... More

This is one of the most beautiful beaches in the US! If your traveling the keys, this little gem is highly recommended! I don't care to get into water if I can't see my feet.... You'll have no issues here... Clear, clean, cool beautiful water with a white sand beach... Bring your camera in a ziplock bag.... You'll want to... More
