Kona Kai was one of the highlights of our trip. We booked for our first night for our adventure through the keys and ended up staying 3 more nights. From Denise who took incredible care to show us everything at Kona Kai as well as incredible spots to eat and play, to the comfy bed, super clean bungalow, gorgeous botanical... More

Everything about Kona Kai is designed to please and it succeeds: a stunning but quiet waterfront with kayaks, beach, coconut palms, hammocks, with a western view over the Gulf (think sunsets). The gardens are superb, with entertaining and informative tours (don't miss this), exotic fruit tastings, unusual specimens to view from other lands. As Floridians from Sarasota who have tropical... Dear 484Mark56: Thanks very much for your review. Glad Denise was "exemplary," and that you pointed out WHY one of our kitchen suites are so much more enjoyable as part of your vacation: "if only for making our own breakfast," or for enjoying a scoop of Mr. C's ice-cream at days end, etc. We often suggest to prospective guests to... My boyfriend and I just stayed at Kona Kai, and got engaged on the beach between palm trees overlooking the ocean! The room was very romantic with windows overlooking the dock/ocean. We found the staff to be very friendly and extremely helpful. Yes, there is no "room service" and the room isn't cleaned every day unless requested, but as environmentally... More

We got engaged here at sunset, and later returned for our honeymoon. The grounds are wonderful, the beach and view of the sunsets terrific. Our hosts treated us very well, and made sure we made the most of our adventures in the Keys.

Kona Kai is a tropical paradise. My mom and I stayed in what I was told is their "smallest" room. I was expecting a small room but it was definitely NOT SMALL. It was absolutely perfect. This resort is a hidden gem. I will never stay anywhere else in Key Largo and can't wait to go back again. The room... More

This was our first visit to the resort and will not be our last. If you want to get away from the rat race and relax in a lush, tropical setting this is the place to go. The grounds are really a beautiful botanical garden (really). Wildlife and birds abound. You can't help but relax here. It's a place to... More
