This resort was a nightmare, where do I start the bathroom toliet seat had all the paint off it and the shower stall had peeling white paint and you can see it use to be black, no vent in the bathroom, the bathroom was very small. The towels in the bathroom where wet. The bedroom curtains don't close so I... More

The place is totally outdated, bugs everywhere and pricy. The receptionist; (the heavy one), she was extremely unfriendly and rude. They advertise a beach by the far end of the bar, but be aware there is a sign in the premises warning for “Crocodiles” The Tiki Bar is pricy and the service is awful with less than fair bar menu.... The most awful experience of my life. The rooms were disgusting, old and shabby and extremely expensive ($147.00)and the worst part of all(and we stayed only one night) we were infested from bed bugs. Around 3 days after being there my daughter called me that she was full of bites and 2 days after myself. When we went to the... More

Wow, what a nasty, filthy hotel - that covers pretty much everything. We go down to the Keys quite regularly and some of the hotels are not really up to standard but not too bad. But Gilberts really tops off everything I have seen in my live. And I am traveling globally a lot. The only positive thing is the... More

Got to the Keys a bit later than planned and were stuck for somewhere to stay. If we'd been able to read the reviews before we arrived we probably would have kept on driving - and with good reason. We had rung 20 minutes before arriving to ask them to please keep a room for us - but when we... More

This place is ok if you want to stop and grab a drink or a bite to eat at the bar.. It's overpriced but at least you can say you did it. But as far as the hotel is concerned the only people that should stay are my enemies. We didn't sleep here but on a whim asked to see... More

What a location, off Highway 1 - before you go into Key Largo. Situated on the water. First impression was what a good position but looks a bit tired. There is a Restaurant and a Tiki Bar. The Restaurant was closed but the Tiki Bar was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The food we had was excellent. To... More

The rooms are in terrible shape. Electrical outlets with 4 or more plugs and covers taped on or no cover at all. No air conditioning but it runs all night The maids do what they can but it should have been renovated years ago. Everything is third rate and in disrepair. It is unfortunate as the location is quite nice.... More

Hotels are expensive on the Keys, so if you "only" spend $140 a night, I guess you can't expect luxury. But I can't help feeling that you should get a room in better shape than these rooms are. First the good about the place - the location is lovely. The hotel has a nice Tiki bar which my daugher and... More

Rating of one is too high for this dump! In my opinion this hotel was dirty, had black mold in showers, thin stained sheets, ripped pillow cases, torn curtains, countertop in bathroom was loose from wall, and 60 seconds of hot water. Keep your white socks at home if you don't want them filthy from flooring. If you like to... More
