My wife and I stayed here four different nights during April and May. We were both having cataract surgery at Winter Park Hospital very early in the morning (5-6 AM). We live an hour away and did not want to make the trip in the middle of the night each time, so we decided to stay somewhere in Winter Park... More

We love Winter Park, but probably won't pay the price for the Park Plaza again. We love quaint, boutique hotels and B&B's but we do expect a level of care & cleanliness. The Park Plaza could easily keep its charm and historic status but still bring some things up to a higher standard. But let me say the staff is... More

If you love Winter Park with its' boutiques, restaurants, parks and culture, this is the Hotel to stay in. Actually up until now, it is the only place to stay in Winter Park! Everything is in walking distances. Valet park you r car and you don't need it until you leave. Built in the 1920's it really is a time... More

If you need any amount of sleep per night, do not stay in this outwardly appealing hotel. The train rolls through all night, so loud that you cannot hear yourself think. While the location in town and proximity to Rollins College is perfect, our reasons for staying there, we left at 10 pm because it sounded as if a freight... More

I want so badly to give this hotel a great review. The staff and service have been amazing both times I've stayed there. It's in a historic building that they have kept mostly true to it's origins, however, some things need to be modernized to make it worth it. First of all, the noise... I don't know what else to... remember, this is not NYC. its "old florida" which means shabby chic. we went here for a romantic getway. it has a feel of a time gone by...charming to some, old fashioned to others. the staff were friendly but very disorganized. be aware of the location: central, BUT right in the middle of the street and train noise. the breakfast... Sadly, many comments below are accurate. Homey and homely all at once. Tired and threadbare lobby, yet comfortable and dire going on cold morning. Bellman friendly and helpful at all times. Suite overlooking park avenue typical for older hotel. Noise from hall, adjoining rooms, and street evident, yet I had a good night sleep. Trains do come through and are... More

I am in 1000 percent agreement with Italianinspiration. They actually give out ear plugs if you complain about the train! There is no headsup about this on the hotel web site, and if you talk about it with staff, they claim they will tell you over the phone. I called in my reservation and no one said a thing. The... This place was a recommendation to us as a romantic getaway. I should have checked in to it more. Upon check-in, we had told the valet we wanted to just freshen up as we were headed back out for a dinner reservation in 30 minutes and asked how much notice we needed to give him. he says 5 min, but... The worst possible hotel to stay in> Our daughter goes to Rollins and we visit 6 or 7 times a year. This is little more than a bed and breakfast in an old, thin walled dump. The rooms are tiny, loud, and the 430am train blowing the horn and shaking the entire room was absolutely alarming. Noone warns you of... More
