My daugher and I stayed here for 2 nights. Its not a fancy hotel. But is very clean. It needs to be updated. With that said, you cant beat the location. The breakfast is free so its not the best. The coffee was good, and they have ceral and fresh fruit. Our room had 2 queen sized beds and a... More

Stayed here last weekend of March. No complaints this stay. We had a nicer room than our visit last October. Considering the discount rate and nearby beach / pier access, this is a good value. Sure it needs a interior renovation and an elevator, however the exterior looks better than most Tybee Island establishments. Breakfast could be presented in a... More

My husband and I had a reservation at the Howard Johnson on Tybee Island. I made the reservation through the H J 800 number system because our internet provider was down due to a storm. I did receive a confirmation on my email the next day. When we got to the hotel, the woman behind the desk could not locate... More

After reading some bad reviews, I was nervous about staying there, but here goes.... The hotel was dated and worn as some said, but our room was as clean as could be. The breakfast was as good as any other hotel, in this price range, so don't understand the complaints about that. The pool was pristine and well cared for.... More

We stayed here for two nights on a break from a road trip. The hotel's proximity to the beach and to excellent restaurants is fantastic. The beach and the Tybee Island Pier are an easy 2-3 minute walk from the hotel. The continental breakfast isn't anything to write home about, but it serves the purpose. I was very happy with... More

I took my kids to Tybee for Spring Break this year and decided to stay near the beach instead of in the city. This Howard Johnson was rated #1 by users so I figured it had to be great. Our AAA discount made the deal even sweeter. Well...I'll start with the good. The Inn is located across the street from... More

Its a shame Howard Johnson's use to be one of the finest of all the hotel chains. So what happened? The property here is nice however some of the staff is well questionable. This location is way over priced. I don't believe I would stay here again.

I was with my kids and we wanted to explore Savannah and decided to stay out on Tybee. The room wasn't ready when we arrived, but then again, we were early so that's ok. They let us store our bags in the room and we went out for lunch while they cleaned it. The staff is REALLY friendly and attentive.... More

Simple and basic hotel. Nothing fancy, but it's in the perfect location for Tybee. Walking distances to the beach and downtown shops and places to eat. Friendly staff as well. Our room was clean. The bed was a little on the hard side, but not to the point where we woke up sore. The only bad thing about the entire... More

My wife and I stayed at the Howard Johnson's a couple of nights. The staff was friendly, the room was comfortable, clean but nothing out of the ordinary. The location was great as it was just a couple minute walk to the beach and in very close proximity to many of the town's restaurants, bars and shops. We sampled the... More
