A tip, if you're planning on staying on a Saturday night....don't get a room on the ground floor facing the parking lot. Around 12:30 people started leaving the bar and because of the location of the bed, your head is going to be about 6 feet from a passageway where everyone who is 'lit up' is going to walk by.... We found the Modern to be comfortable, clean, and quite fun. The restaurant and bar served very good food and had a good selection of drinks. We would surely stay here again. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful.

A great deal if you're looking for a comfortable, clean and quiet place. The staff was energetic and friendly - you could tell that they really like working there. Once you get over the fact that it's a converted Travelodge and that the doors open right to the street, it's a very good place. It's not too far from downtown Boise (15 min walk, maximum) and each room has a minimalist European feel to it, which reminded me of places in Amsterdam and Oslo. Definitely not what I expected...
