This place was very nice. I had no idea what a hostel was like and after staying here I'm going to look for hostels in other cities. This place was clean and quiet. We stayed 3 nights. There were 40 of us, 33 students and 7 chaparones. We had a total of 5 rooms, I think. The boys & dads... More

Just be certain that’s what you want. You pay in full on arrival, not departure. Rooms are basic. I booked a private room; they gave me a two bunk-bed room usually for five to myself. It was handicap-accessible, so it had bathroom facilities, but no closets or hangers. You can rent a locker for valuables. Daily service is limited to... More

I may be stating the obvious with the title of my review but the moment I stepped into this well located Chicago hostel I felt as though I was in a hotel, the only difference being that I shared my room with a few other guests. That's some compliment and not a remark I would attribute to any other hostel... More

Stayed in the hostel for 6 nights. Arrived early on the first day and wasn't able to check in yet, but they cloaked our bags, gave us plenty of maps and suggestions of where to go to avoid the cold. The hostel has volunteers on level 2 - who are there in the morning and early evening who were an... More

We stayed at HI- Chicago with 12 high school seniors for a three day trip to Chicago. It was perfect. Centrally located, we walked to all the downtown venues(millennium park, Garrett's popcorn, Sears/Willis tower), and easily grabbed the L to the white sox game or a dinner theatre or took a bus to the Lincoln Park Zoo. The kids loved... More

The location is second to none, match that with the price and you're laughing. The rooms are really big with only a few beds in them (I know many hostels that would have double the amount of beds in rooms that size). Breakfast is a bonus, whilst simple, as a traveler on a budget, I'm not going to say no.... More

Where do I begin? Lets start with the value. For 3 nights in "the loop", I paid $107 - including taxes. Let that sink in for a minute. 3 nights in downtown Chicago...$107. Because the hostel is in the loop, you have access to transportation options galore: the L, busses, Metra, South Shore. Need to buy a CTA pass, no... More

Probably one of the best places I've ever stayed at. Really large and spacey room with large shower and toilet, everything was perfectly clean, big lockers, your own bed light and comfy beds with spare blankets already in the room. Larger selection than most places for breakfast with large kitchen, lobby and common area (this place is just pretty big... More

I arrived for a short weekend visit to Chicago and this is the best location for travelers who would like to explore city and museums. I was quite pleased with the quality of facility after few bad experiences with hostels in US. This hostel is quite big and can accommodate a lot of travelers. It was a bit disappointing that... I will be staying here in two weeks with my daughter. We rented the private room which shares bathroom and kitchen facilities with 3 other rooms. Great location, too. If you need to store your luggage, bring locks for the lockers. You wash your own dishes in the kitchen. Coffee is available all day. Continental breakfast is included - cereal,... More
