- Chicago Howard Johnson

Location, Room, Service - everything is 5-star in this lovely hotel.
Location, Location........... That's it!
No way there's been a remodel in 2010, more like 1989. The rooms and building in general are old and cramped. However, all was clean and the staff was really accomodating.
Free parking and location to all of downtown was the highlight. Oh, the price was right for what you get. I'd recommend the HoJo and...

Staff was very helpful. The location is right in the middle of everything. Our room was clean and quiet. I'd stay here again.
Not sure I would recommend this hotel to anyone I know - I am almost embarressed I stayed here. It is just kind of icky. Good things - cheap, central, walking distance of most things Not so good things - smelly, bug in the bed, window didn't close properly ( had to get maintenance guy to come and fix it).
The best hotel nearby. I have got much more than I supposed. Free parking. Excellent location. Very nice room. I worried about parking, but there were places. I recommend this hotel for everybody, if you find free rooms though. ;-) As for me I will definitely choose this hotel again some day.

While parking on side street before checking in we had a number of homeless people asking for money etc. Not Howard Johnsons fault of course.

During our week, after lots of on-line shopping and reading of reviews, we chose to stay at the downtown Chicago Howard Johnson. First off the price was very reasonnable compared to...
