Arriving in Chicago just before the NATO summit meant the experience wqas a little strange. Protesters on the street and office workers told to work from home. This hotel had that annoying trait of no free wifi but otherwise was pretty good. Maybe I have been on too many business trips, but it seemed like many Intercons in many parts... More

The InterContinental was in a great location, but was not quite as luxurious as I would have expected. The hotel seems to be in an art deco style. There was an interesting inset sofa that made an efficient use of the limited space in the room. Although we were given a room with a king bed, it seemed to us... More

There is something special about the Mag Mile at Christmas and the Chicago Intercontinental is a great location to experience it all. The service here is excellent and you cannot beat the location for dining out or a quick shopping trip.

As one would expect, the InterContinental on the Magnificent Mile in Chicago is luxurious. However, unless you book in a deluxe room or suite, expect the rooms to be small, as with many older city hotels. The location is the best and the staff and amenities were very nice. I did not give and "excellent" rating for the rooms, due... More

I just spent ten nights here and, overall, had a good experience. The location is excellent and the building is magnificent, and I have no complaints about the service. For the high price that you are paying however, it was astonishing that a) internet is not free and b) costs at least $15 a day and c) does not work... More

We stayed here in July 2011 for 3 nights. This hotel is in a GREAT location. The room was small and stuffy. The staff was difficult and there was no free wifi. I have experienced more luxury in a Holiday Inn.

We went to Chicago for 5 days and decided to stay where the action is so we stay at the Intercontinental right at the beginning ot the Magnificient Mile Street for shopping on Michgan Ave. Very nice hotel, great services, clean rooms, a very good but expensive restaurant, the Michael Jordan Steak House. The food is excellent but like I... More

I would say that the hotel was very nice, but nothing really made it stand out. The really cool thing about it was that it offered for free a basic internet service where you can look up places to eat and other basic info around the area and the hotel. I thought that was a nice touch. Also, you are... More

This hotel is right across from Nordstrom on Michigan Ave, so a fabulous location for access to shopping and restaurants. But at $300 a night, I expect a more luxury experience. The decor is dated and the rooms have year 2000 technology: cheap hairdryers attached to the wall, no easy way to plug in phone and laptop chargers, powdered creamer... More

I stayed at the InterContinental Chicago last month for business. The room was spacious and had everything you expect form an InterContinental Hotel. The staff at the front desk, bar, restaurant and concierge were very friendly and helpful. Our company also hosted a luncheon in their banquet space; the room we used was perfect for our needs and the banquet... More
