Though the entrance was under restoration, the historic hotel was in fine shape. At check in, we were upgraded to a lake front room. The view of Lake Michigan was spectacular. The entire staff was outstanding. The room was clean and well appointed. I highly recommend The Drake

If you get the chance ask for a room on the 10th floor. Guests staying on 10 have privileges for breakfast and afternoon snacks/cocktails on the 11th floor overlooking Oak Street Beach and the lake shore looking north. Great views of the city. The room was spacious and very comfortable. Great bar on the lower level as well.

Although a bit eccentric for the pedestrian who comes to visit Chicago, still a great addess for the one who prefers traditional places. I stayed for a couple of nights in April 2012 in an executive suite at the north corner. The hotel is extremely quiet. Forget the so-called continental breakfast: the fruit juice is charges extra, that's a bit stingy.

Excellent location in heart of Chicago. Large rooms, great service. Enjoyed my stay. Loved the large floral bouquets!

The Drake has been on my "bucket list" for a long time. Finally got there last week. It is in a great location, with a feel of what grand hotels should be. Staff was friendly and gracious. Our room overlooked Lake Michigan and the Oak Street Beach. We went to the Coq d'Or for drinks then stayed for a light... More

We went to the Chicago area because our son was graduating from boot camp, thru Expedia we saw the 4 star hotel was only $20.00 more than the economy choices which was the first thing in it's favor. We decided to upgrade to a view room and although Expedia was not great here, I called the hotel itself & for... More

Gorgeous entrance that's currently under construction, so yes, you triple park just to unload right now, but hey, that will be fixed soon! Great location - Hancock Tower is next door (hello late night cheesecake runs!) Then normal Hilton in room dining is available, but there are also several great restaurants on site. Lovely helpful staff, quick to respond, our... More

I was able to get a great deal through priceline on a room at the Drake for my partner and I during a recent visit to Chicago to visit my family and do some business. The hotel is in a great location, had very helpful staff, and you can't beat the history in this hotel. I would say it's probably not... More

My Husband and I have stayed at The Drake many times over the years. We love its location and the charming historic feel of the common areas. There can be no doubt that it is not a 5 star hotel. It is a very old building with all the pros and cons of age. Here's the kicker though - we... More

My two teenage daughters and I stayed at the Drake for our spring break and had a wonderful experience! We booked the two queen family room that has two bathrooms (2 teenage girls=best idea EVER)! We had a slight problem with the first room we were put in and the hotel staff bent over backwards to fix the problem and... More
