It was a HOT day. When we arrived at the room the a/c was NOT turned on and the fridge in the room as shut off. We had no where to put the items from our cooler (one of the reasons we picked this place) I don't think that it should have been a problem to turn on these items before our arrival since everytime I was near the lobby there were 2 woman sitting... I booked this as a road stop on the way to an East Peoria event. I wanted to stay outside the city. I researched the hotels in the area and decided on this one. It is an older hotel and it smelled old. The room was clean but old. The beds were nice and seemed updated. There was a lot of paint in the carpet. They offer a complimentary hot breakfast buffet. It sounds good... More

Three of my family and my dog stayed at Ashland house for three nights the summer of 2011. It was by far the best hotel we stayed in. It's not new, but the prices are lower than other hotels of lesser quality. The breakfasts were comfortable and readily available, it was quiet, and clean. That's where we'll stay next time we're in the Peoria area. I stayed in Ashland House a few years before when... More

Stayed here in March 2011. Decor and cleanliness needs to be improved. Someone cut themselves on something sharp in the pool, so they closed it for an hour while they fixed the sharp object. Of course that happened just as we were arriving with a group of kids who were very anxious to swim. Beds were ok, towels were thin, breakfast buffet was not plentiful and not refreshed often enough for the number of people... More

A family emergency required extending my stay in East Peoria. Unfortunately, the Stoney Creek Inn (another story) wasn't able to extend my stay and the other local hotels were booked as well. So, it was BW Ashland House as a last resort. I've stayed at and reviewed this property before. There's nothing nice here. It's still dirty, still noisy, and still poorly maintained. I wasn't even a little surprised to find a pretzel on the... More

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel and had a very enjoyable experience. Clean, quiet, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I will stay there again and definitely recommend to others.

We had a perfectly fine stay at this hotel. The only reason I didn't give it more stars is that it's not quite "there" yet. When we first walked in, there was a sign on the lobby door "excusing their mess," as they were renovating the front desk area. The desk was temporarily just a table near the door, with laptops and phones for the staff... and all kinds of paperwork strewn all over. I... More

Never a fan of the Best Western chain in general. When this hotel was first opened, it was probably nice. Now many years later, it's incredibly tired, worn, outdated, peeling paint, chipped furniture, and worn-out carpet. The room rate is silly for this calibur -- it's a $59 room, not a $99 room! Only a pool -- out of order, of course -- and no hot tub. And the "free breakfast" -- what a joke!!!... More

This hotel needs updated. A bit worn, could be spruced up. Beds were alright, pillows are not. Bring your own ! Internet was horrid. Manager was rude. Breakfast was good and the same daily, but was filling. The attached Pub had great food and friendly service. We were in town for the National LWML Convention. We politely inquired about a late check out due to our schedule. The Mgr was extremely rude. I can understand... More

Nice place, clean, convenient, safe. This is one of the nicest Best Westerns I have ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious, and the WiFi worked perfectly. We will definitely stay here again.
