Bonaparte Iowa sits on the banks of the Des Moines River and the Inn is an ambitiously converted former wool pants factory. The room's are spacious and new with antiques and, to my taste, unfortunate Victorian touches rather than a kind of industrial chic. So much furniture and no place to hang your clothes. Took a little tour of the Inn and it is beautiful. Right across the street from Bonaparte Retreat restaurant. The rooms are very nice with quite a range--about $100 to about $175. We did not stay there but wouldn't hesitate to do so in the future. The owner was on site and she was gracious as well as very interesting.... More

My fiancee and I stayed at the Bonaparte Inn for the third time over the Christmas holiday, and the place, as always, is flawless. My daughter and I stayed here and I can not tell you how great it was! The rooms are so nice and clean. The staff so friendly! What a peaceful place to sleep. We ate at the Bonaparte Retreat, right across the road. Really enjoyed it ...Can't wait to go back .

We stayed at the Bonaparte Inn the day after Thanksgiving to visit family in the area. We had visited the property before and were impressed by the large, beautifully-appointed rooms. It was a flawless visit. We stayed in the J.W. Whiteley room which has one queen and one king-sized bed. It had a large flat-screen tv as well (as I... More

I’m still basking in the beautiful afterglow of our experience at The Bonaparte Inn located in the charming riverfront town of Bonaparte, Iowa. Our short stay was a mesmerizing one, where my family and I felt as though we had taken a step back in time, and were living in a bygone era. Ranging in age from 49 to 11,... More
