I am in the hotel right now and enjoy every minute. Lobby is posh, rooms are updated and comfy beds. I'd change the type of coffee in the room though. Very nice hotel, and just one or two blocks to restraints and bars. Good customer service.

Okay, the only downside was our room had 2 double (full) beds. I knew this on booking. We have owned several mattress stores so we can sight-size a bed, and my husband's reaction when he glanced and said "is that a full?!?" was hilarious. We've been traveling a lot with king size, so it's a bit of a change. He's... More

We were in Des Moines for my son's graduation and had a total of 3 rooms. The staff at the desk did a great job of arranging for all of us to stay in rooms near each other even though the hotel was completely booked for the weekend. The rooms were very nice, roomy and clean. The staff made sure... More

We have stayed at the Renaissance Savery in Des Moines twice now, we have been pleased both times. The rooms are beautiful and the beds comfy. The staff is friendly and helpful, the lobby is lovely. We particularly enjoy the location, right downtown so we could walk everywhere we wanted to be. Walking distance to the East Village, Court Street... More

This is a nice old historic hotel that is conveniently located downtown with access to the skywalk. Good beds, bathrooms are small but ok,and cable works fine. The big downside to this hotel is the wifi access. It is free but was terrible. It shuts off every 2 min or so and you have to reconnect. When it works its... More

Lived in Des Moines for 10 years and never stayed here but recently had a date night with my wife and stayed at the Savery. What an awesome hotel, very neat, full of history. Great staff, clean and reasonably priced. Would highly recommend this hotel and will stay there again. Must thank the front desk people for the toothbrushes.

I booked this hotel thru Priceline by picking 3 1/2 stars and downtown area. I knew there were only 3 hotels in the downtown area. I paid $85 which was supposed to be 53% off. It is right downtown, about 3 miles from Mercy hospital where I have family in ICU. Since it is downtown you have to pay for... More

I am from Iowa and stay in the Renaissance Savery Hotel every time I'm in Des Moines. The staff is always attentive, the restaurant is always great (with good drinks at the bar as well), the rooms are nice and large with comfortable beds. My family chose the Renaissance Savery for a stay in Des Moines for my son's wedding. The hotel is conveniently located near the river and Des Moines is a wonderful city for walking around and exploring. The hotel has posters all over with information about its history. I stayed here for a hybrid work/fun trip, and was disappointed considering that this is a Renaissance property. There's not enough staff.
