“Enjoyed our stay”

We were in Iowa City for the Book Festival and stayed one night. The room was clean and comfortable. The front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. Our only complaint was that the juice was room temperature, which isn't very appetizing. We would stay there again.

“Quiet, out of the fray”

Our third stay. Convenient but off busy streets and in office park area that provided safe, quiet walking with our dog. Clean and comfortable. Easy drive to downtown amd close to Hickory Hill park. “Marvelous”

Quite an amazing hotel, Friendly service at the front desk Rooms were really well done, the pool is the best part its very large and goes down to 8 1/2 feet deep, really nice, second the jacuzzi in this place is absolutely incredible, breakfast was really delicious.

“Great service, reasonable rates, great hotel layout, but had a mildew smell in bathroom”

The hotel layout is awesome! It would be great for a wedding party. The pool and jaccuzi were inviting and the poolside bar had a great dinner menu. The rooms were large and very reasonably priced. Free hot breakfast at a full service property? Great. Entire property was spotless. The staff were all incredibly helpful, knowledgable and friendly. Elevator would have been nice, but I needed the exercise. 5 stars!

“Friendly helpful staff”

It was a pleasure to stay at the Clarion Highlander in Iowa City Iowa. All of the hotel staff is well trained, outgoing, friendly and helpful. It was a delight to eat and relax in their restaurant/lounge. Good food and conversations with other guests and staff.

“Worst Hotel in 58 Years, and I'm only 58!”

We left! The place is awful! No elevator, we didn't need one. Got to our room, smelled like chlorine. The "fireplace" was an electric log with five red lights that "glowed". Also, sagging bed and filthy carpet! Next, no phone in the room to complain. Front desk staff didn't seem surprised we were leaving, and not even apologetic!. Probably happens... More

“Decent overnight stay”

Our stay was fine, the rooms were clean and comfortable. Price was reasonable, and the kids really liked the pool. It was fine for a one night stop over. The weather was really bad so having a restaurant on site made it nice not having to go out in the bad weather again.
