Three friends decided to meet for a weekend. Finding a room to accomodate three people was not easy but there is a room here that will. Nila was a great hostess with her stories and suggestions on what to do and directions if we needed them. The food was great--wish there was more. The pigs are quite the conversation starter!...

We want to thank the multitude of guests we have had over the years. for visiting our B&B and sharing their stories and lives with us. We have thoroughly enjoyed our journey as innkeepers the past 21 years, but now it is time to move on. The Iowa City Golden Haug bed and breakfast will be closed as of November...

It was my last weekend in Iowa City before moving to Los Angeles, and my girlfriend and I were looking for a place to escape to before our period of long distance separation began. The Golden Haug provided a fantastic getaway that offered more amenities for a lower price than the Sheraton or the Hotel Vetro. The room was clean...

We had a really nice stay. Our room had a private entrance and was very charming. Breakfast and conversation in the morning was great.
It was our first time to stay in a bed and breakfast. The rooms were great and the owner was a fantastic host. If we are ever in the area again we will definitely stay at the Golden Haug.
We stayed at the Golden Haug for 4 nights, had the good fortune of reserving the Swine and Roses room - which is a very generous sized suite. This is a charming B&B, very quiet and comfortable and well situated within walking distance of all the downtown has to offer. The innkeepers are a delight, the breakfast was wonderful, and...

This place is the best! Relaxing, decor is beautiful, and hospitality is supurb! We love it here and plan to return in the fall. The owners are very focused on greating a devine atmosphere for the guest.
The accommodations were old, tired and furnished with garage sale stuff. I felt as if I had gone back into a time warp of the 50's . The overall atmosphere was dreary. The floors were sticky. The towels were really worn out and I wondered about the sanitaryness. The sink was barely a foot from the bed. The window air conditioning...

A month before this guest stayed in this room, it was upgraded and redecorated, with new tin ceiling, crown molding, refinished floors, and freshly painted. The bed is dressed with a down alternative spread, there is a newer wing back recliner chair and a roll top desk. " No garage sale stuff" at my houses. This guest was informed by...

The hosts were very accommodating and friendly, and love to chat. The room was clean and felt very homey. We stayed in the "Swine and Roses" room - Great, comfortable bed! The tub was nice to soak in, but the shower part is a bit obnoxious (you have to hold it by hand). The DVD player didn't seem to work...

We stayed here for one night in June while visiting Iowa City. The house is very comfortable and located within a short walk of the downtown area, where shops and restaurants abound. The room we stayednin had a huge, comfortable bed and a sitting area with the perfect napping recliner. The breakfast was hearty and tasty. The host, Nila, and...
