Simply loved our three days at Loyd Hall!! Beulah was charming and so attentive and kind. The peace and quiet is refreshing compared to the hotels in Alexandria as is the cleanliness! The history and preservation is breathtaking and amazing. I expected Rhett and Scarlett to show up any moment! "Fiddle dee dee!" Already booked for next year!

My wife and I were off to the Angola Prison Rodeo and decided to make stops at two Plantations. The first was Loyd and other reviewers have given exellent info. We stayed in the Jenkins Suite and it was very nice. Large, inviting and a great room. Area is beautiful and a great example of the American South prior to... More

We stayed one night in the Camelia room and it was amazing. We were the only guests, it was peaecful, quiet and beautiful grounds. It is like taking a step back in time. Would definetly do it again, but next time for the whole weekend. I would highly recommend it for a couples weekend getaway.

After a wonderful cruise on Mississippi River in April, we decided we wanted to experience a little more southern hospitality so we booked Lloyd Hall Plantation. I contacted them by phone and told them we were traveling with friends and it was important that our accommodations were as equal in amenities as possible. The original kitchen to the plantation was... More

We stayed in the commissary which was the old plantation store house opposite the main house and next to the swimming pool. The room was large with windows and porches front and back, well furnished with some antiques andl equipped with a kitchen as well as a bathroom. The reception was friendly and the restaurant recommendation (Rocky's) excellent. The pool... More

Probably a year ago, my husband stayed here in one of the cottages while he was working on a project in the area. He enjoyed his stay so much we planned to, and were finally able to visit together. My husband and I spent only one night early in June, but this time we were in the main house. Our... More

We stayed in Mindas Cottage for two nights at the end of march and it was a big surprise. Being from Europe we were really interested in diving into the world of "Gone with the wind" on a Louisiana plantation. And we found it! While our not-yet-2y-old loved the quiet surrounding, the cats, squirrels and donkeys - we appreciated tha... More

My wife & I spent the night here this past weekend and absolutely loved it. We stayed in the Jenkins suite which is a basically half of the 2nd floor of the mansion. The suite is 2 connected 24x20 rooms with a luxurious bath attached. Like other reviewers, we were planning our next trip before we left. Breakfast and the... More

My husband and I spent a relaxing Fall weekend at Loyd Hall. Located admist the sugar cane fields, a visit to Loyd Hall is like stepping back in time. I enjoyed sitting on the porch and watching nature at its best. The beautifully landscaped property is filled with history, which was shared with us by our fascinating tour guide and... More

For the uninitiated, there are legends about this place that go back quite a long time, and all of them are surrounded in a stream of misfortune that seems to continue here, as if this place is catching up for years of undiscovered obscurity. Until the current owner, Mr. Mike Jenkins purchased Loyd Hall, named for William Loyd, rejected and... More
