My wife and I just finished staying at the Sur La Mer Inn. We've been going there for about 10 years. We absolutely love it! Over-priced for what is offered. Antiques and charm are not excuses for old, worn, and out dated. Moldy. Service at minimum. Lack of friendliness and defensive, grumpy and attitudes. The restaurant has food from Sam's Club at gourmet prices. Skip it.

Best view in town, next to sparkling ocean. Splendid, peaceful terrace for sunning, sipping, vegging out. Friendly, thoughtful and fun innkeepers. Tasty breakfasts, comfy beds, sunny, breezy rooms. Nice and quiet and convenient walk to town. Close enough to town to explore it, but far enough away to enjoy Maine's beauty and to have some serenity.

Although the location of Sur La Mer is okay, the B&B is disappointing. It has been allowed to become a little run-down, is not well furnished, and has poor service. You would do better to look elsewhere in Boothbay Harbor.
