We only unfortunately stayed for one night, but from the moment we arrived what a nice welcome from a lovely couple. Our room was lovely and spotlessly clean, we stayed for the evening meal and I hold heartily recommend the food especially the scallops, breakfast was equally enjoyable. We even had a warm welcome from the pubs regulars and made... More

My wife and I stayed for one night. The room was very comfortable and the landlord and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Our evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast and all in all really good value. Would stay again and recommend the George. Lovely location.

We stayed for one night. The landlord was very welcoming. The food was lovely food and the room, just across the Caremark was great. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend it and stay again!

Stayed one night at The George. Room was well equipped for our needs, was clean and very fresh. Location is a picture perfect village and very quiet. Decided to eat there as well for evening meal and for breakfast. Both were of an excellent quality. Service again at both meals was fantastic - friendly and enquiring but not in your... More

Stayed last night and we had a lovely stay. The landlady is really nice and friendly as is her hubby the chef and they both and made us feel very welcome. Room was large, newly decorated, well-equipped and clean. Breakfast was a real treat - freshly cooked to order and served with a smile. All in all a great place... More

Had lunch here twice recently and found it to be excellent. Food quality good, service excellent and cheerful staff behind bar. Prices are sensible too. Ashley is a very quiet village so dont expect any exciting night life if you decide to stay at the George

We arrived late in the evening and were welcomed into the hub of a local pub with locals at the bar. Our order was quickly converted & we were shown to a corner cosy table, close to the bar, where we enjoyed and excellent and delicious meal - only some of my photos were in focus sadly! I am particularly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The George - a real village pub. We used the pub as a base for a walking weekend across the border in Leicestershire. We enjoyed walks at Foxton and Eyebrook Reservoir and before breakfast we walked around the village - lots of interesting buildings - checkout the village website. Good breakfast, short evening menu... More

We stayed for one night and where else could you have a suite for £60 a night. Well it had an en suite showere room anyway. All the staff were enthusiastic and efficient and the food for dinner was excellent and very good value. The "suite" in the converted barn was recently done but let down by a little tlc... More
