I have only walked through the property, and while there is great potential, I think there are small things they can do to greatly improve the look and atmosphere on the inn. All rooms could use new bedspreads/bedding. They look old and tired. It's time to trash the old televisions for new flat screens. If the inn can afford those,... More

Had this recommended to us by the Visitor Info Center, which was our 1st port of call on arriving in a very wet Portland for the first time. Staff at the center phoned the owner who offered us a much reduced rate as it was late afternoon when we arrived. We headed over to check out the room & decided... More

We stayed at the Percy Inn on an extended weekend visit to Portland -- Friday - Sunday. When we arrived we found, as did all others, no one to greet us but an envelope with our name on it lettling us know the rooms was ready and waiting for us. There was a sign on the dutch door directing us... More

Carrie, who managed our time at this great little place, made our entire experience here a pleasant one. She was relaxed and fun to talk with, and pretty much knew the correct answer to every one of the many questions we had about Portland. She was generous with the Inn and a joy to have around...in some B&Bs we dread... More

We did a micro-vacation to Portland and stayed at the Percy Inn. They had rooms available at short notice and at a very good price. The location is very good, and just a short short walk to many fine restaurants and the harbor. Unusual for a New England B&B, the property is a brick row house. That means you have... More

If you're searching for an attentive, intimate B&B that feels like a stay at grandma's the Percy Inn is not suited for you, but for those who enjoy privacy, simple comforts and don't mind serving themselves the Percy is perfect! True, we never met the inn keeper, but we were not bothered by it. There was an envelope with our... More

Confused by the lack-luster reviews. The Inn itself is beautiful and charming, our room (the Ralph Waldo Emerson) was large, comfortable and reasonably priced. Though we never met the Innkeeper (which didn't bother us - we went away so we could spend time with each other, not hang out with an innkeeper), we had the company of other Inn staff... More

Hard to believe that the owner of this establishment was a travel writer. The room was off the breakfast area. Very dark - could not even a book. No water pressure in the shower, no soap provided. Never saw a person until it was check out time. Breakfast was so uninviting we walked across the street to a restaurant. We... More

It seems that the charm of B&Bs has been fading. Although we try to stay away from hotels when leisure traveling, the personal touch of the B&Bs we have found lately has been missing. That is true of the Percy Inn. We spent 2 weekdays there and the best we got from Dale, the innkeeper, was a personally signed form... More

Our stay at the Percy Inn on June 2011 was definitely not what we had expected. It did not live up to the websites description or amenities. When we arrived there was no one present at the Inn to greet us or check us in. The Inn Keeper left envelopes with the room keys for each guest at the entrance... More
