My partner and I spent the Memorial Day weekend at the Black Point Inn and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The inn is located toward the end of Prout's Neck, which is a gorgeous, relaxing area. It's proximity to Portland (~10 minutes by car) made it a nice place to have convenient access to the city. We opted for one of... More

My husband and I spent a few nights at the Black Point Inn in 2006. I loved the charming Inn and encouraged my daughter to have her wedding here over other places in Maine. It lived up to all my hopes for a memorable, beautiful place for her wedding. Landice, the planner, was wonderful, efficient, well organized and great to... More

My adventure began with a wonderful customer service rep and ended with a kind, thoughtful door man. I booked to be steps from the ocean, to take photographs, and to treat my niece. Every single employee she and I met at the Black Point Inn from door to restaurant were not simply responsive, but delightful. We stayed during Memorial Day... More

My sister thought she made a 12:30 pm reservation for Mother'Day. Mother is 92. OOPS. We had to wait 30 minutes before I met up with some manager type. We were seated in the bar/other restaurant than the Mother's Day buffet main room. This took a total of 45 minutes. When we went for food there were 3 to 4... More

My husband and I recently tried this Inn after flying into Portland. We were on our way to Kennbunkport, but thought we'd try this for our first night. It is very convenient to the airport and perfect if you have a late afternoon flight. We had the most incredible dinner in their fine dining restaurant. The lobster strudel was a... More

We loved the room, the situation of the inn, the walks from the site and the service except for the main restaurant. We ate in the so-called fine dining restaurant on our first night but the ambience was cold and impersonal. The server was delightful (Polly) but she was let down by her colleagues in the kitchen. My husband has... More

We stayed here as part of a tour of New England and absolutely loved everything about it - the fabulous location, the decor, the ambience and the friendly and helpful staff. We couldn't find fault with it.

The Inn is in a gem of a location and features one of the nicest seaside hikes anywhere. However, on my second visit in three years there were glaring disappointments. For starters, service charges and Maine tax will up your already-steep tariff nearly 25%. Be prepared. We had dim lightbulbs, a broken lamp, funky heating, including a dead unit in... More

There is no finer place to sip an adult beverage than on the outside deck at The Black Point Inn. Look out over the ocean and see the view that inspired Winslow Homer to paint his beautiful seascapes. Casual is fine, but class it up a bit beyond cutoffs and jeans to do justice to the setting.

We had the chance, the past weekend, to stay at the Black Point Inn in Scarborough, Maine. Wow ! I've been eager to stay there for many years but thought this was out of our budget. Facing a 3-day weekend with a urge to go back to the beach, I decided to call anyway and have the real infos... guess... More
