Spent a night here last week on my MDI trip. I was very impressed with how friendly everyone was; I really felt like I was at home. Stayed in the Pumpkin Island room -- bed was comfy, room was very nice and clean. strong wi-fi signal and ooh those cranberry walnut pancakes were fantastic. Overall, a very, very nice stay... More

We had a decent enough time in Southwest Harbour despite the very poor weather for our 3 nights. Clearly there are a lot of walks and cycle rides available in the Acadia Park. We did find a break in the weather to climb a short local summit. This Inn is on a busy town center road which does quieten down... More

While the Inn at Southwest is decorated throughout with wonderful vintage furnishings, and immaculate curios; you feel right at home in front of the fire on a cool morning, or while sitting on the wrap around porch on a warm afternoon. Sandy and Ester are the perfect hosts-they are there for questions, if you would like information on activities in... More

Just returned from a 4 night stay at The Inn at Southwest. It is in a perfect location for exploring Acadia - and the accommodations were great. Sandy and Esther and the rest of the staff ensured that we set off on just the right hikes, found all the good restaurants, and started the day with amply sized and very... More

We spent our anniversary at The Inn at Southwest over Labor Day weekend. Aside from the superb breakfasts, clean, comfortable room and friendliness of Esther and owner, Sandy, the assistance we received on Labor Day Monday truly saved the day. When returning from dinner Sunday evening, the exhaust system on our car broke just as we turned into the driveway... More

This is a well-kept Inn with a great breakfast and friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable keepers. We love this quiet side of the Island, and both Sandy and Esther have given us tips on great hikes nearby. We had car difficulty, and Sandy got us to a great mechanic. When we were looking for lobsters and wild blueberries to take home,... More

We stayed at The Inn at Southwest this past weekend and can highly recommend it. The property is lovely - rooms individually decorated, all with a deft hand. The owner, Sandy, and her staff could not be more accommodating - we arrived several hours past our expected time - they left the door to our room open and the lights... More

We stayed one night at the inn. The inn has beautiful architecture and antiques. I love all the books lined on bookshelves in the hallway and downstairs beckoning you to pick one up, read and relax. Sandy was very nice and the room was clean. Our bed was comfortable, it squeaked a little bit when you got on it, but... More

Wow, we got rid of our futon 20 years ago. Funny it sure felt like the Inn at Southwest claimed it and was using it in the Pumpkin Room where we recently stayed. We checked to make sure and confirmed that yes it was a mattress. A really really firm one. If you like sleeping on asphalt then the Pumpkin... More

I am truly sorry your stay with us was less than enjoyable. We try very hard to make our guests feel at home. I recall filling your water bottles a number of times during your stay from the filtered water we keep for guests in the kitchen, so there was an alternative to tap water available which you availed yourselves... We stayed for 2 nights during the heatwave of mid July (temperatures reached 95) and the humidity shorted out the electrical system of our rental car when sightseeing just outside of the car - with the keys on the drivers seat. This meant the car was locked good and as tourists with the breakdown assistance information locked inside we were... More
