Arrived on Saturday before Irene made her presence known. Lost power for a short period of time bvut never a porblem at Smugglers Den. Stayed two weeks and had a great time as usual. Owners installed a new playground so familys with youngsters will have a better than ever stay. Already planning next years stay. Staff are the greatest. More

This was our third time staying at Smuggler's Den and we wouldn't stay at another campground on MDI. The shuttle bus to Bar Harbor and other points on MDI make it a real convenience.Owners and staff are the best. Short walk to the Top of the Hill for a really great dinner. More

There's some great sites in this campground if you can get a site close to the only real bathroom in the campground, so I strongly suggest taking a look at the campsite map before booking a site here, but there are some not so great ones. You'd be OK with the premium sites; whereas the regular sites are close together.... More

Wonderful place for a family. We camped for the first time with our 2 children (ages 8 and 10) and had a blast. Nice campground, weather was crappy so we didn't have an opportunity to test the pool but looked VERY clean. A bit away from Acadia and Bar Harbor in relation to some of the other campgrounds, but never more than 20 minutes from anything on Desert Island. More
