My wife and I have gone to East Wind Inn for over thirty years. It is simply at all levels the best "authentic" Maine Inn ever. Food, service, atmospher, front desk attanetion... Innkeeper, tim Watts, was a one-0f-a-kind innkeeper. We are sad that he has passed on. We only hope the tradionas will remain the same. He was a great... More

We stayed here in August - our first time in the main house. This place is quite special - not as bad as the worst reviews say - not as perfect as some others say. It is rather like visiting my aunt's place in NH - but she passed away. Anyway, the restaurant is closed except for a great breakfast,... More

I read all the reviews before booking here, but went ahead anyway because we prefer old inns over done-up B&Bs. We used to stay at the Island Inn on Monhegan before it was bought by the current owners. It was spare and simple and lacking in style, but it was just fine. I have to agree with others that The... The reviewer who called this inn romantic must have been high on something. This inn is way past its prime. I have stayed at many inns that I would call romantic, but this isn't one. The best thing I can say is that it has a beautiful view of the harbor. We stayed in the Meeting House, a musty, decrepit,... More

The East Wind Inn was calm, quiet, and atmospheric. We appreciated the fact that dogs are permitted. We stayed in the Meeting House, where we had two quaint rooms with a hall and bath between. Initially, the top floor space seemed cramped but we adapted to it. There is no air conditioning; fans are provided. The view is lovely, with... More

We stayed here during Lobsterfest, as it is a short drive into Rockland. Do not expect anything modern. It is quaint and charming. Beautiful views of the harbor, and delicious breakfast. Inexpensive and a good value.

Picky travelers used to staying at Hiltons beware: you will probably pick this place apart. Rickety floors, peeling wallpaper, shared bathrooms, and outdated decor will evoke groans from some. THAT SAID, if you're an old soul who finds the romanticism of a bygone era charming, you will likely enjoy your stay here. The room was clean, bed comfortable. A beautiful... More

This is a quintessential Maine inn--a very pretty building and gardens with gorgeous views of the harbor. At night from your room, you can hear the sailboats clanking in their moorings in the harbor, a great way to be lulled to sleep. Very good straightforward food and especially nice breakfasts. I know families who bring their children on their birthdays... More

We booked from Italy, having found this property on the internet and we didn’t regret. The hotel is very nice, great view and there is the possibility to enjoy a beautiful park overlooking the sea, excellent and varied breakfast. Helpful and polite service staff, particularly the manager. Good cost / services ratio.

Our small but comfy room was on the third floor with two shared bathrooms, one or both of which were usually available. We had a view of beautiful Tenant's Harbor, daily room cleaning service and clean towels and bath mat, plenty of storage, and free wifi. Breakfast was served between 8-10 and one can choose from the entire breakfast menu... More
