I had a great stay at this motel, it was clean, comfortable, and had a very homey feel to it. It was my first trip to Maine and the owners were really helpful in orienting me to the area, my first stop being their recommendation to the fantastic BBQ place across the street. Next time I'm in Trenton I'm definitely...

Great motel, clean, and comfortable. Motel manager is awesome, very helpful! We would stay again, staff is friendlier than Marriott in Bangor.

We've stayed here on several occasions now and just love this place. We do kayaking on nearby lakes and at sea and find this the perfect location. Owner extremely helpful with all our needs and the cabin rooms very quaint and comfortable....and very affordable! You won't find a better deal around. Highly recommended.

I complained and owner was appalled that I would even say such a thing.. It was true. I asked for another room so I stayed in the hotel room which was...

And although there is a restaurant next door, most businesses were closing down at the time I stayed. Ellsworth is about 5 miles inland or the IGA 5 miles toward the coast.
Staff and cleaning...

I read all the reviews about this motel and I am writing my own. My wife and I and our 2 dogs stay at Acadia Gateway Motel every year. (usually twice a year) for the past 3 years. (ACADIA GATEWAY IS THE ONLY PLACE THAT WILL ALLOW YOU TO LEAVE YOUR PETS IN THE CABIN, leave your AC unit on)...

The title is the one thing to keep in mind. Cabins are seasonal, bare-bones accommodations, and are intended to be a place to hang your hat and sleep while in the area.
That said, Acadia Gateway provides simple accommodations. Our cabin shared a building with a second cabin, and it was around 160 square feet. No phone or alarm clock....
