- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
-
The John Randall House...a rambling twelve-room inn right in the very heart of Provincetown. Built at the turn of the century in 1900, the house was designed and built by the town doctor for his family. With five children, the doctor and his wife needed p1enty of room and space for their family. Most of the house remains the same as when the family occupied the home. Only two additional walls have been added to divide and create more guestrooms. All of the original woodworking and hardwood floors remain instilling a Victorian charm. The building behind the main house, which is now two condominium units, served as the doctor's Office and garage. The building directly across the street from The John Randall House was the town morgue. The doctor's wife wanted to have and operate a bed and breakfast so they purchased the building next door to us, which is now The SunSet Inn. She ran the business as a hobby for many years. The House remained in the doctor's family for many years until passing into the hands of a local family. From that family the house was passed down to a son who converted the family home into a bed and breakfast. In the past The John Randall House was previously known as Crosswinds Inn.
