The Westin-Waltham is our favorite home away from home. As you walk in the hotel, the smell is so comforting and inviting. The front desk staff are always pleasant, professional, personable and helpful. The property manager Rodney is wonderful to deal with. The beds, well if you've stayed in a Westin, you know. But if you haven't the beds are the most comfortable, inviting and cozy place i've ever slept besides my own home. The rooms, bathrooms, along with all common areas are always clean. If there is a mess of some sort, the staff is immediately taking care of it. We paid $1 extra on our reservation to have breakfast every morning. Well worth it! The restaurant and wait staff are excellent. The food is always so good, fresh and served hot. They now have a breakfast buffet, which is nice, but you are still able to order from the menu, which is a huge bonus in my opinion. The bar is lovely to sit and relax at. When there is an event the bar can be very active & lively, but that can also be fun. In the spring, summer and fall, looking out those gorgeous windows is a beautiful view. In the winter, it is still lovely to have a wall of windows to soak in the daylight and night sky. The pool and workout area are also well taken care of, clean and well laid out. The workout area has everything you need to get a good workout in. They both offer towels, a bathroom and a shower. If you forget workout clothes, the Westin has you covered! The pool is a lovely area, and is generally not busy. It is inviting for all ages to enjoy. There is a lovely park to walk right down the hill and around the corner. It is not a strenuous walk, and dogs are welcome. The top of the hill offers a beautiful view, is a quiet and peaceful play to sit, relax and breath in the fresh air and beauty. The location is also very good. It is safe, which is most important to me. Interstate 95 is right there, and it is about a 12 minute drive to downtown Boston. There are stores within a mile if you need anything, restaurants down the hill that are walkable, including a Dunkin Donuts if you don't like Starbucks (which is what's served in the hotel). Unfortunately the only downside we had this trip, which we've never experienced in 7 years of staying at the Westin-Waltham is now we have to pay for parking. It is a definite convenience to have a parking garage, but there is not an optional parking lot, if you don't want to pay the daily $15 fee…
