Dated rooms, minimal staff, meagre breakfast selection. Free internet. Easy to eat at the Williamstown Inn next door.

Clean, very basic and lots of value for the price. If your student is visiting Williams it's great place to stay. Within walking distance from the campus.

We have stayed at the Northside for many, many years and this was our worst experience ever since it changed hands a few years ago and prices went up. Although our room was musty but clean, there was a huge camper in the parking lot which was left running all day, every day for the three weekend days we were... More

This hotel raised it's rates 200% when the Solid Sound music festival came to town. The room we are in was unbelievable. Dark, dingy, musty. Archaic. Shades, curtains and the bedspreads are all ripped. Lamp shades are stained. How does a lampshade get stained? How are they getting away with this? (I know, because chumps like me pay the rates.)... The Northside has a great location compared to other Williamstown motels. It is on the Williams campus, in walking distance to any attraction in town. The rooms are spartan, poorly decorated and needed to be updated 20 years ago. However, the rooms are clean and very inexpensive, which is in stark contrast to the dirty, overpriced Williams Inn next store.... More

Poor internet access, often lost connection. Bathroom tiny, smells like humid locker room. Curtains but no shades so either have light/air or no privacy as people walking by can see in room. TV very old- not flat screen. Breakfast food cheap- like truck stop choices- cold cereal, styrofoam cups, packaged food. Redo seemed to be only putting in ugly patterned... More

Great value and great location. Hey the rooms aren't that great but honestly look what your paying. You get 2 beds that are clean and pretty comfortable and a clean, hot shower. What else do you need

When checking in, the front desk staff specifically asked me to write a review. Well, here it is. I have stayed here three times. The first two times were bearable (the worst that happened was having a cockroach in my room). The third trip convinced me never to stay here again (I should have taken a sign from the roach... More

I got a last-minute work assignment in the Berkshires, and I had to find my own lodging. I lived in the Berkshires for a while, so I was wary about finding an affordable hotel in October. After some searching, I decided on the Magnuson Northside. I was pleasantly surprised. I arrived late, after a 3-hour drive on back roads. Most... More

I hate bad smelling hotels. I must admit that I booked this hotel with some trepidation because I had heard (and experienced) that many hotels in Williamstown "need updating". While the Magnuson Northside is not the Ritz, it was absolutely and truly adequate for a family needing a neat, clean, room with a little extra space and NO bad smells!... More
