This motel is located within walking distance of the downtown Charlevoix and is across the street from Lake Michigan. It is also pet friendly. From the exterior, the motel is a 1970's style motor court which presents very well. Rooms are exterior entrance. We stayed in Unit 29 which was extremely large and very clean. The room had two queen... More

I've stayed in this hotel several times - always have had a great night's sleep and appreciated the lower rates they offer. If anyone wants great access to downtown Charlevoix and the lakes but doesn't want to pay hundreds per night - this is the place to be. We don't spend vacations in our hotel room - especially in a... Traveled to Charlevoix many many times in the past 10+ years, love the city! Since we spend little time in the room it is a great bargain within walking distance to just about anywhere you choose to go. The rooms are clean front desk staff has always been friendly and willing to help with any issues, very informative with much... More

DId I say a great location! I dont understand what some of the bad reviews are for. This motel is older but is 200ft from Round Lake\Lake Charlevoix and about 500 yards from lake MI and has a lot of character. If you are looking for a place to stay that is in one of the most beautiful areas of... More

I was surprised that being in the middle of Charlevoix, that is motel has been neglected for so long. It's prime real estate, and historically significant- and sadly out of date. The stone structure was designed by Earl Young who designed all of the very cool 'mushroom houses' in the area. But our room was bad- it had a musty... More

Travelled to "Charlevox the Beautiful" to tour and view the historic Earl Young houses. The Lodge was also designed by Earl Young, but is the most depressing, dismal hotel ever. Even worse, the proprietor was gruff, not welcoming or gracious, acted like it was just too much trouble to check us in. Well, it was only a 1 night stay,... More

We have stayed at most of the B&B's, motels, and hotels in Charlevoix, in all price ranges, over the years because of family in the area, so have come to know them well. This year, the year of the first Earl Young stone houses tour in Charlevoix, we decided to honor his designs by staying at The Lodge (We have... More

I don't know what the previous reviewers paid for their room but they should keep in mind that if you want luxury, you are going to have to pay for it, especially during the summer in Charlevoix. It is typical to have to pay over $200 for a weekend night during the summer in Charlevoix. You can get a standard... More
