This is a terrific property, right in downtown Charlevoix. The hotel and restaurant were designed by local architect Earl Young. I especially enjoyed my Jacuzzi suite; the huge tub and fireplace, along with a balcony with a view of Lake Michigan made my escape complete.
... and there was no insulation around the air conditioner. The breeze blew right into the living room of the Harbor Suite. We stuffed towels around the air conditioner, so we only had to suffer the slight breeze blowing through the door.
Nice location ... walkable to downtown Charlevoix.
This hotel is not worn out ... but it is worn....

I used a Groupon incentive for off season travel. We stayed in a suite facing Lake Michigan on the first floor, end unit. We had a clear 90 degree view of the lake. They had traditional continental breakfast services. The staff was friendly and polite. The unit could have been vacuumed more thoroughly prior to arrival. The bed was comfortable...

We stayed in two different rooms because a late reservation on our part did not have one room open for two consecutive nights. No big deal and the staff made the transition as smooth as possible. Our jacuzzi room had a Lake Michigan view, artifical fireplace, and king bed. It was nice enough, but unless you really need a jacuzzi,...

I stayed at the Weathervane Terrace Inn & Suites for one night in March 2012 with a friend who won a free night’s stay. The Weathervane is self-described as a castle-like vacation resort with its unique architecture, but we felt it was more like a motel with its exterior room entrances.
On the positive side, the hotel is located close...
