If you're looking for a good value B&B on Mackinac Island, Bogan Lane Inn is the place to stay. Compared to other B&B's on the island, this inn is extremely affordable. The location is excellent - one block off the main street and close to the shopping district, walking paths and bicycle rentals. The house is quaint and filled with... More

Since I was 11 I dreamed of going to Mackinac Island, but never did because I was certain I couldn't afford it. I was under the impression hotel's and the B&B's were out if my comfort price range. For my 40th birthday I decided to plan a trip for the first time. The island tourism group suggested Bogan Lane and... More

We had a great time staying at the Bogan Lane Inn. The staff are welcoming and friendly as are the guests. We enjoyed the homemade breakfast (scones + currant cake), and socializing with the other guests, as you are bound to do given that breakfast is offered from 8:30-9:30. The location is very convenient, just off the main strip and... More

Yes, it is charming, but this is not a high scale hotel. These rooms are dated and you have to share two community bathrooms. The ladies who owned it were friendly, however not particularly warm to children. The breakfast in the morning was good with fresh baked goods. I think this was a great way to experience Mackinac Island and... More

We have stayed at many places on Mackinac Island and found Bogan Lane to be average for the price you pay. It is less since you have to share a bath room. We did not like this idea at first but it actually worked out quite well. The beds are another story......they look like they are from 1950 and very... More

My husband and I stayed at the Bogan Lane Inn this past weekend. It was a wonderful little place at a great price. As soon as we walked in we were made to feel right at home. Our first stop was in the living room where they had fudge waiting for us. Our bedroom was very cute and simple and... More

We absolutely LOVE Bogan Lane Inn! Native islanders Trish, her mom, and Jake the Golden Retriever are the hosts of this beautiful, historical home. The rooms are homespun and clean (our favorite is the Porch Room), the rates are very reasonable (compared to other places on Mackinac), and the breakfast is the best on the island (Trish bakes fresh every... Having never planned a trip to Mackinac Island before, I had the misconception that the very expensive, well-publicized Grand Hotel was the only lodging. Thank goodness that's not the case because everyone should have the opportunity to spend at least one night on this most interesting and beautiful island. There's a range of lodging options. For the budget-minded who want... More

in the porch room where i stayed, they had very comfy beds. in the morning the breakfast was always wonderful, especially the cowboy coffee cake! i stayed 4 nites in mackinac, which was enough to experience the fudge, fort, and state park. the rate was decent for the expensive island. ive learned after a while you don't notice the smell...
