friendly people and reasonable prize in sgh 1 - eating is better next door in the garden. the noise was not too bad and good watching the scenery on durbar square from the window.

We found the SGH1 quite expensive, also they didn't mention anywhere on their website you have to pay the 15$ per person to even enter on Durbar Square. The room was ok, with nice view over the square, the shower was cold. We had lunch and breakfast and found the food quite expensive and not that good.

We checked out both SGH1 and SGH2, and the rooms of SGH2 are definitely bigger and more beautiful, whereas in SGH1 you pay the same price, mainly for the view on the Durbar square. We had a nice stay at this really lovely guest house. The owner was very cordial and helping. Rooms were clean and food excellent. Price was also reasonable.We were very happy to stay there and home food prepared at very reasonable charges.We recommend this spot to anyone who comes to Nepal I lke Nepal very much and hospitility.

Stayed in Shiva 1, location was incredible, right on the square and fairly clean. Staff were a little disinterested and didn't really feel that welcome.

It is a very basic place so do not expect first class accommodation but it has the advantage that it is in Bhaktapur itself so if you are there for seeing the festival you can walk to all locations. The rooms are clean, the bathroom truly basic but the food is good and the staff is very friendly.
