We booked two nights at Le Chateau de Sully for our visit to the Normandy beaches. The hotel is beautiful, and we had a lovely large room overlooking the front of the hotel and its beautiful grounds. We had high expectations for the Michelin one-star restaurant; however, our expectations were not met. Unfortunately, our second night when we thought the... More

An overnight stay during a Battlefield Tour of the Normandy beaches. Despite booking twin bedded rooms we had no choice but accept a double room for 2 male friends - They are 'friends' but not that good friends as to want to share a bed!!! - Restaurant seemed very overpriced - Restaurants in nearby Bayeux offer better value for money.... I chose Sully as the location for our 2012 Chateau Trip and I was not disappointed. We had 6 rooms booked and stayed for a Friday and Saturday night. Friday night we enjoyed four courses from Le Bessin en Gourmandises menu and Saturday night we had the six courses from Le Choix du Chef. In our party we had one... More

I recently returned from a trip to Normandy with my history buff 18 year old son. He wanted to explore the historical beaches and countryside, but also enjoy his graduation gift! Minutes from the hustle and bustle of the charming town of Bayeaux sits the Sully. As we pulled down the tree lined line the magnificent chateau sits elegantly on... More

Stayed at Chateau Sully on a recent group cycling trip. The chateau is less than 5 k's from Bayeux. The property is magnificent with a long driveway leading to the chateau. The rooms are both the main chateau and an adjacent building (where we stayed; some others in our group were in the main building). Our room was relatively large... More

Traveling as a family of six, including grandsons 8 and 10, we spent five nights here. The long driveway and expansive grounds seem out of proportion to the relatively small but very nice chateau. The kids had connecting rooms 11 and 12 on the first (not ground) floor, while my wife and I were in room 25 in the middle... More

Lovely old world hotel 3 minute drive from the centre of Bayeaux. Nice pool and jacuzzi housed in outside building 50 metres across the yard where our room was located . Comfortable bed and tranquil surroundingss .The proprietary Jean is an absolute gentleman and could not have been more helpful. The food was very good and the Maitre'd Alex was... More

We stayed for one night as part of a Backroads Bike Trip, and found our room and the hotel very nice. Our room was large, with a nice comfy king bed and a modern and spacious bathroom. The pool and hot tubs were very nice and the main building was lovely. Breakfast was not a buffet, and the service was... More

Arrived at the hotel on a tour of Normandy and the beaches. This hotel is nice but not worth the money they charge. We actually had ants in our bed and when I told this to the desk clerk.. he just shrugged his shoulders and said "thats being in the country".. not the answer I expected from this level of... More

This hotel, one of a small number from the "Relais Du Silence" group, provides an extremely convenient option for visiting Bayeux, Port-en-Bessin, the D Day beaches and this part of Normandy. It is not priced for budget tourists and shouldn't be compared with nearby hotels from large chains which ARE geared to D Day tourists. The hotel comprises a small... More
