We love staying there, you can't beat the view. The food is good, the staff is nice, the rooms are clean. It could do with some upgrades, but the value is good.

Stepped back into the 80's when we stayed here for one night. Friendly staff at front desk and in the bar. Rooms, decor, furnishings, carpet,...nothing's been updated in a very long time. Our bartender told us the Hilton group had just bought the property, so I imagine there will be a major renovation which would be awesome. The location and... More

We have stayed at the Edison Inn several times in the past. Noticeably is getting a bit more worn. We were greeted very positively and examined three rooms before we made our choice. The halls, carpeting and elevators were all clean. One room needed revacuuming, but otherwise they all were clean. TV's are dated and one room needed work on... More

As someone that did housekeeping I can tell you the bedspreads are not washed and the blanket is washed when it looks dirty but ONLY when it looks dirty mine smelled like B.O. badly!!! When I said something to the desk they said that they were sorry and would have someone come up and change my bedding but no on... More

Just stayed at the Thomas Edison Inn for a Romantic Weekend. Was concerned after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor, but I found them to be very accurate. The Hotel is beautiful but really "worn". It needs an update, the carpets are showing their age, the bedspreads are outdated and the furniture is older. But . . . the people... More

My husband and I stayed at The Thomas Edison Inn, last weekend, and had a wonderful time. We chose Tom Ed for its location on the St. Clair River at Lake Huron, "in the shade of" the Blue Water Bridge. We were very happy with our room with a balcony and great view of the water and bridge, but many... More

I stayed here with my girlfriend and her parents. The clost was a bit expensive for just a mediocre hotel. The rooms were ok, dead bugs in picture frames, dust on tv, other things like that. But the kicker was when we opened up the couch bed. There was mouse feces all along the top of the bed. This is... More

We have stayed here a couple times in the last few years. The hotel is becoming run down like previous travelers have said but the view is what it is all about. We love watching freighters and our room had a great view. We did not dine in the dining room so we can not review it but we did... More

We have stayed at this hotel almost every year at Thanksgiving for many years. While it is certainly showing some age and could use some updating, we found the staff exceptionally helpful and friendly, the room clean and large, and with a view over the river. The public spaces are historical, interesting and tasteful. We would stay here again. The... More

I spent another weekend at the Thomas Edison last Spring. Getting a little 'worn looking' however, so was the Royal York in Toronto and still first rate! Lovely views of the St. Clair River watching the many ships and water craft. Outstanding facilities. Large indoor swimming pool, jacuzzi hot tub, sauna and gym. Great dining room where service is as... More
