We had a family reunion here in july 2012! After searching for a placethis fit our family perfectly! We had family from out East, out West, midwest coming so it had to be a place that had airport access and car rentals. The lodges ranged in size from 1 bedroom to 9 bedrooms. The lodges were in a woodsy back... More

Decided to visit for my 55th Birthday, needed to de-stress and relax. I've been visiting the area since I was eleven and just now discovered this gem! Stayed at the log cabin, it had just snowed the night before and the scenery was like out of a Ansel Adams photograph. Was planning on going out for dinner at one of... More

The Barothy Lodge is a hidden gem of West Michigan! Accommodating any number in your party from 2 to 120, this place is ideal for retreats, family time, fun with friends and especially family. I attended a board retreat with a group of 14 people, staying in the Elkhorn Lodge. The lodge did not disappoint for entertaining a crowd (TWO... More

Our group of friends have been staying each February at Barothy for the last 5 years. We have had an excellent time each year. The last two years we stayed at Eagles Nest. It is located on the east side of the grounds right on the Pere Marquette river. There was an eagles nest on the other side of the... More

The best part of the Barothy Lodge is the grounds, which are very well kept with deer and other animals wandering through. There's some of the state forest to walk through. I think the lodge works best when travelling with a group. Most of the lodges are set up for a a larger family/gathering than ours. We stayed in the... More

We were invited to a wedding on the banks of the river under the trees at Barothy Lodge on Saturday 16 August 2008. It was really romantic and the weather was perfect. We stayed two nights in Duffys. My husband, son and I had the cabin to ourselves. Because of the wedding, we did not have time to do any... More

We have stayed at Barothy Lodge for quite a number of years now. The cabins they have are impressive, well appointed, and for the location, very luxurious. Most, but not all, cabins have indoor hot tubs and pool tables. I personally like the absence of TV to give it that get away from it all feeling. The cabins are spread... More

I have been going up to this lodge for 5 years and I love it. Very clean, great staff. We go every August for 4 days and love it. If you want to have a good time, stay here!! The river is a bit of a challenge, not for beginners. We stay at the Elkhorn. You wont regret staying here.... More
