“Best "lakes" area in the state”

There are many great "lakes" areas in the state of Minnesota (Brainerd, Walker, Grand Rapids, Detroit lakes, Alex, ect..), but Park Rapids is my favorite. The lakes are the best. They're fantastic--sand bottom, spring-fed, deep, clean with no milfoil and good fishing. The town and area communities are vintage "up-north" feel with quaint shops, restaurants and bars.
