Playa Escondida is a very beautiful resort. The beach/jungle huts are a truly unique experience! The food is incredible; so fresh and deliscious. The activities that are offered are very reasonably priced and a lot of fun! The service is fantastic and staff are always trying their hardest to make sure everything is great. The resort is lanscaped immaculetly and... More

We attended a wedding and stayed for five nights mid May 2012. There was 54 people attending the wedding & we filled the entire resort. I was blown away by the staff as they worked non-stop to give us what we needed. Everyone on staff spoke english really well and we're incredibly friendly but in the most genuine way. The... More

Stay here. Awesome hotel, great food, excellent service. Review over. No really though. We found this place almost by accident. Its not easy to find, and we came in without reservations and the staff were very friendly and let us look around and have a beer in the restaurant. Since it is sort of out of the way I don't... My husband and I spent a week at Playa Escondida to celebrate our 15th Anniversary. We were looking for a peaceful, romantic location and found Playa Escondida met all of our expectations. The pictures on the resort website are representative of the accommodations and all the reviews on this site and others seemed right on. Friendly and efficient staff, clean... More

We visited in August, in the wet hot season, with no AC you'd think it would be unbearable, but it was very bearable .The room was large clean and of course unlike anything we or many travelers have experienced. While some things at first may seem a little off putting , it turns out like many things if you just... More

I just got back from a trip that I so thoroughly enjoyed because of the amount of relaxation and rest I was given. Playa Escondida was so incredible. I was in my car driving down the jungly road and instantly knew from the beach views and warm air, that this was definitely a great decision to stay somewhere so secluded... More

Absolutely enjoyed so much my stay in Playa Escondida, what a great discovery. This is a great hotel my friends and I found by accident, such a happy accident. It´s in the middle of the jungle and right over the ocean front. Loved the pool and restaurant area overlooking the beach (great for sunset spotting). We wanted to relax and... More

This place has character. No, it's no Four Seasons, I'd venture to say it's better- I find 4 Seasons resorts to sterile, contrived and frankly, pretentious. The rooms at Playa Escondida are not perfect nor uber-luxurious, but they are truly unique and at the same time comfortable. In many rooms you fall asleep with the surf practically at your door.... We were at Playa Escondido in Sayulita seven days 3/3 – 3/10. Overall it was an extremely positive experience. The property is beautiful and very unique. I’d describe it as a whimsical Gillian’s Island. Our bedroom and bathroom (Sol2) were very small but the outdoor areas were large. The shower was actually outside with an amazing ocean view. We had... More

I have to leave my first bad review, stay away. Its no Four Seasons. Website offers one thing and when you get there well, they have you. I am writing my first travel book, and was asked to check this place out. Not up to par, unless you haven't traveled before. The locals won't even go there. Website still says... More

Thanks for taking time for us and good luck on the book you are writing! Although we are not an economy hotel our prices are reasonable. Perhaps you have us confused with the Four Seasons as our dinner prices range from 255 to 630 pesos for 3 courses. More
