The Grand Union Hotel is a gem, not to be missed if you are anywhere within a hundred miles. If your plans call for you to stay in Great Falls, I suggest you drive 36 miles and stay at the Grand Union as there is nothing else like it. Beautiful rooms, all amenities, and located right on the banks of... More

We decided to take a little road trip down to Montana to Fort Benton after hearing from a friend about the historical importance it had the west in the 1800's. Stayed at the Grand Union Hotel built in the late 1800's. Large steamships came up the river right beside the hotel on the Missouri River all the way from the... More

The hotel is very cool. Great location to walk along the river and within crawling distance of about 5 bars. Had a basic room and it was very nice. The bar has a decent selection of beer and wine only and it is overpriced by Montana standards. We had an appetizer, it was prawns for $13. I was disappointed as... More

I discovered the Grand Union through word of mouth. I had just finished up a rigorous four week business assignment and needed a place to stay before flying out of Great Falls in the morning (hotel is located about 30 miles outside of GF). The hotel cannot fail to capture one's imagination and is so enchanting it must be experienced... More

The Grand Union was the first luxury hotel in Montana, and it quietly reflects its pedigree. The present owners have combined historical accuracy, impeccable taste, relaxed service and extraordinary dining into a archetype for restored historic hotels. We return twice a year, minimum, to commune with the spirits of a very real Montana. More

My girlfriend and I spent a magical Christmas with the gang at the Grand Union. We knew we had made the right choice right from the moment that we walked into the lobby and saw the wonderful Christmas decorations. This grand old hotel wonderfully tells its history while being a very comfortable modern hotel with good sized rooms and wireless... More

Just a short drive north from Great Falls, Montana, and east from Glacier National Park, sitting on the Missouri River, this historic hotel has grand style that can befit a wedding party or a group of river rafters. The owners have not over modernized the building to take the ambiance away, but updated every aspect to attend to a guest's... More

The hotel was a little quirky (at the check-in desk there was a sign saying to see the hostess in the restaurant for help), but very friendly, beautifully restored, and nicely furnished. It exceeded my expectations given we were in the middle of nowhere Montana. Since we reserved this hotel fairly late, the only available rooms left were junior suites.... More

We were pretty much ignored during our recent stay and our room filled with the smell of chicken barbequeing somewhere below. I would stay in a B&B in town on my next trip. The front desk clerk didn't get off the phone to talk to us, when we tried to share our disappointment. The restaurant was closed for dinner for... More

We are glad of any feedback about an experience at the Grand Union Hotel. We do try to have our restaurant accessible to all of the guest that stay with us. Our breakfast in the morning is complimentary and we always have a hot dish as well as various cereals and freshly baked pastry and sweet breads. Being that we... More
