Amber Bear Inn was the perfect retreat for my husband and me this past week/weekend. The drive from Spokane was breathtaking and Nancy gave perfect directions to their bed and breakfast. The inn is on 400 private acres reserved as a wildlife sanctuary. Our room was extremely spacious with vaulted ceilings, a spa tub, fireplace, sitting area, wet bar, and... More

The food was tasty and well prepared. The grounds were quiet and serene. Above all, the owners provided a warm and relaxed atmosphere and took every opportunity to make us... More

Our crews spent a few weeks at Amber Bear Inn. During their stay the service was excellent. Each day the management would tailor to the needs of the crew through providing early breakfasts and keeping the restaurant open later hours to provide dinners. More

My wife and I have harbored a desire to hole up in the northwest corner of Montana for a few days, and when the opportunity presented itself, we were very happy to discover the Amber Bear Inn. Mike and Nancy Masten, the owners, have crafted a gem. They moreover are just wonderful people. If it weren't for the need to... More

We spent several days at the Amber Bear Inn in Heron, Montana. We were catered to by owners Michael and Nancy who have built a beautiful home in a gorgeous location. We watched deer and elk grazing in the front yard while enjoying good meals in the dining room. The rooms, all with baths, were super clean and offer great... More

We stayed for the night on our 34th anniversary with the seasonal special of Dinner, Room, and Breakfast. It is an exceptional value at $199. The hosts, Mike and Nancy, are very gracious and hospitable, the rack of lamb and rib eye were excellent, the room was very comfortable, and the breakfast selection is amazing. We saw elk, deer, geese,... More

The Amber Bear Inn is a beautiful lodge with wonderful ambience. Mike and Nancy are homely and welcoming they really look after their guests. The dining was great but the best bit was the local wildlife, especially Reggie the bear!! who took great delight in trying to sit on our Harley. We would thoroughly recommend the Amber Bear Inn and... More
