I made these reservatioms online which is risky with a private campground. There is a huge difference in how private campgrounds are maintained. This KOA is 4 miles north of the beautiful town of Red Lodge, which is considerable when you have just been in Yellowstone Park and over the glorious Beartooth Pass all day. We arrived hungry and tired.... More

We had a nice stay at the Red Lodge KOA in one of their cabins. The cabins are basic (and I guess the same design across the country), but ours was clean and had a basic comfort that was fine for us. Our cabin was very nicely situated so that it was near the little brook that runs through the... More

Arrived and everything seemed fine until we started to set up tent. The manager kept coming by and telling us to take our towels of the tree stubs that have already been dead for years at the the base of the tree. She said " please don't hang stuff from the trees it will kill them", me and my wife... More

If you are not going to spend alot of time at the campground it's good, but if you want to spend all your time at the campground, go somewhere else. It's nice, but it can get very crouded and if you end up with site 26, don't think you can look out your windows, there is a shed outside and... More

For a KOA Campground this was very disappointing and it was not cheap. The pool was so dirty our 10-year-old would not go in it and was very disappointed. The grass was not cut and the whole place was unattractive - buldings, fences & bushes unkept, etc. Even their signs were like they had been reused - scribbled out words... More

My Husband and I were planning a trip to Red Lodge after our annual trip to Sturgis in August. We called the Koa in the Spring and left a few measages on their answering machine. 1 month goes by and lots of phone calls but we finally got ahold of them and made our reservation. We booked a campsite that... More

Our stay started out wonderfully but we awoke to a ruckous around midnight. The people in the camper next to us came home drunk with about 10 extra drunks and proceeded to build a fire and continue their party. We made a call to the sheriff since no one answered either of the numbers that we had for the office.... More

We pulled our travel trailer in here last week. If you're bringing your own bedroom- it's the place to stay! The staff are friendly and eager to help. The amenities are up to par. The site is wooded with cottonwood and other trees- I do wish that they would put in some Ponderosa Pine though, it is Montana's State Tree.... More

OK - here is the disclaimer. If you go to a KOA, you know what the set up will be approximately: shared laundry facilities, clean and cosy wood cabins, RV hookups, campsites, banana bikes for hire, a little store, maybe TV, maybe internet. Also, don't forget that you will be sharing the campground with other people who potentially may be... More
