We are traveling around Montana experiencing all the hot springs as a fun adventure! We headed to Lost Trails for my birthday weekend. The property is nicely nestled down off the road, there are several cabins to rent, a restaurant, a large pool, and a small converted hot tub pool for 4-6 people max. Overall, our experience was highly dissatisfying.... More

Our extended family had a great weekend at Lost Trail Hot Springs. We rented a large cabin with a full kitchen and room for everybody. The hot springs were excellent after days of both cross country and downhill skiing. The staff were friendly and helpful, the pools were clean and inviting. A great time.

Here is an opportunity to travel back in time. Lost Trail is a perfect name for this unique resort. Rustic cabins in a beautiful canyon, a natural hot springs pool, and very helpful owner/operator service are some of the qualities so often lost at more modern resorts. This outfit still operates like they have for decades. It's a great spot... More

Myself and four buddies stayed at the Lost Trail Hot Springs Resort when we came down to ski at Lost Trail Mountain. Being that we had a long drive to get there we showed up very late, but the owners simply left the cabin unlocked for us and allowed us to check in in the morning. We stayed in one... More

Picture this: Snowy pine trees, savory home-cooked food, regionally brewed beer on tap, a swimming-pool fed by natural hot springs, a refreshing jacuzzi, a relaxing sauna, a rustic lodge, and luxurious cabins. Got that image fixed in your mind? Lucky for you, this can be your reality at Lost Trail Hot Springs Resort. My wife, 3.5 year old rambunctious son,... More

Our stay was an incredible experience from cooking breakfast in the cabin to relaxing in the hotsprings. We enjoyed our entire dinner... tasting amazing port wine, eating fantastic home-made pizza and dessert, and visiting with the owners. Thanks for an unforgettable experience. We recommend this place to everyone who loves the outdoors and enjoys peaceful settings. Can't wait to go... More

I read all of the reviews, and the owners replies, and my wife decided to give it another try since the really bad reviews are all in a few years in the past. I'm glad that we did so. Highly recommended for a day swim. (We didn't stay overnight, so I can't speak to the lodgings.) No complaints on the... More

Thanks for the second chance! From reading past reviews, especially the oldest ones, I'm sure you saw the explanation for why things are so different now than they were a few years ago. We have maintained high standards for the past (almost) 20 years (anniversary in February 2013) with the exception of the time that the property was under a... More

After being at Chico Hot Springs this was somewhat of a let down. But, oh well. It did the job. It was another adventure. Was in an RV and the surrounds were beautiful. Disappointed there was no bathroom facility other than the facilities at the immediate hot springs. An outhouse was available. The dining room was ok...had some type of... More

Oh yes, we are definitely different from Chico, thanks for pointing that out. We want our guests to have realistic expectations. We find that goes a long way in providing a pleasurable experience. As well traveled as you are, we can understand our rustic environment may have a hard time holding up to some of your other travel destinations. We... More

Have been reading some of the reviews for this facility and find that there is always going to be Nay Sayers. The Hot Springs is a old rustic piece of the past, that we are lucky to still have around. What must have been really something in its hay days of the 40's & 50's, is now a little older,... More

Thanks for clearing the air! I don't know who those nay-sayers are, but they obviously don't know what they're talking about, or maybe they just didn't know what to expect. Thanks for painting folks an accurate picture to look forward to visiting. We appreciate it and can't wait to see you, your family, and your friends again soon! More

Great little get away. Don't expect fancy---no little lotions etc......but expect rustic, friendly and wonderful hosts. Family run and very cozy. Woke to a deer out our window. Did not eat dinner but had a wonderful breakfast out on the deck in the sun above the pool. Rooms are basic in the Meriweather Lewis Lodge.....but perfectly adequate and cozy. Keep... More

We're glad you found a way to enjoy yourselves without the extra foo-foos like lotions and such. We try to focus on the important stuff, like making you fell warm and cozy and providing you with a good meal. It's a shame you missed dinner. The steaks and pizzas are fabulous! Next time, OK? We'll look forward to seeing you... More
