From the second I entered this disgusting establishment I was horrified. The service was horrible. The room was gross. The hallways were gross. It's not even a casino. No tables just some slots. It was 90' in the room and the air conditioning was broken. The paints peeling off the walls. I would rather sleep in my car than in... More

We left at 8:30 the night we checked in. There was no airconditioning but they said that it would cool off and that windows could be opened. Howver the windows in the rooms do not have screens. They were nice about refunding our credit card and letting us out of our reservations. The rooms were nice enough, and clean. The... More

Took advantage of the weekday $65 per nite package which includes a $10 breakfast voucher for each person(for each nite of stay) in the very nice dining room --- white table cloths, polite service and good food. Our room had a view from the 8th floor of the West. Rooms facing east face Crystal Bay. The ever changing colors of... More

Everything in this place has an inch of dust on it and the floor we stayed on (5) smelled like they just bug bombed the place. They have a great location and if they updated they place since 1955 it would be wonderful but as of now it's a dive.

We had a super rad time. The hotel wasn't over-run with fun, but the staff was accommodating and friendly. We weren't expecting any other than what we got, the reviews are pretty accurate. The room was clean, the view was epic, the gym/hot tub were empty so I got them to myself, the beach just west a mile away was... More

Okay, we went to Cal-Neva Lodge in the middle of the week in May, before the summer season, but there were no customers in the entire casino, the restaurant was not open for lunch and it was as quiet as a tomb. We had anticipated it would be quiet, but it was completely dead. And we couldn't get lunch, either.... More

Okay, if you regard your hotel as an all-consuming destination which should be perfect in every detail, you should choose another hotel. The place needs a coat of paint, and the room decor is a flashback to your gramma's house (or your mom's, depending on your age). We're talking federal-style furniture, striped fabric wallpaper, and those curvy swag-things on the... More

The Cal Neva was a great place to stay. The tunnel tour and the storied history of the property make it a lot more interesting than your average hotel. Plus, the beautiful views of the lake. friendly staff and great Happy Hour prices! Can't wait to go back.

I recently stayed at The CalNeva for ski races at Sugarbowl and at Squaw. I brought 5 student athlete's with me and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The staff was welcoming and accommodating which makes this so easy to write. Roz the sales coordinator, Robert the security guard, Maurice at the front desk, they were all so... More
