The walls were in disrepair, lobby ties cracked and no hot water to the first floor. Overall, the lodge stinks.

Our wedding at the Cal Neva was better than we could have hoped. The ceremony was outside by the gazebo overlooking Lake Tahoe. We had warm, sunny weather for an October wedding and we were able to hold a cocktail hour outdoors. Our reception was held in the Indian Room which is a gorgeous, historic room with tall ceilings, wooden...

Six months ago my (then) fiance and I had spent 1 day in Tahoe searching for the perfect location to host our wedding. The Cal-Neva was actually not even much of a thought then, we were just humoring ourselves to see what they would offer. Needless to say, after spending an hour with the wedding planner's assistant, we were sold....

We have visited CalNeva several times. It is our most adored vacation place. Its never too crowded, the bar is excellent, the lakeview restaurant has such wonderful food! Lots to do near by without the hectic & crazy crowds. We honestly think the views are so spectacular! The ambiance of the entire hotel is refreshing! It's classical and special. We...

This place has a history going back from bootlegging thru the rat pack. It is a fascinating part of Tahoe history. Marilyn m hung out there as did everyone else worth noting in the 50s and 60s. Place is destined for demo but it should be saved and preserved for its history.

What a joke of a hotel. They kept giving foolish excuses for their hot water being off for the entire tower... at least all the people we ran into in the hotel had the same complaint... How can you charge people for their rooms with no hot water?
They handled the situation really badly, stay at your own risk.

Terrible. Absolutely terrible.
I have visited this place a few times, and as sad as it is to say... this place is now a dump.
The hotel is rundown both on the exterior and interior. The vibe of the hotel is that nobody cares about anything, or anyone, including the guests. There was dirt on the floor, cracks in the...

I will never, ever, ever stay at the CalNeva again. I have given alot of details on the hotel, but skip to the last paragraph for an unforgivable act of customer service if you don't have the time to read the entire review.
On February 25, 2012 my husband, son and myself checked into The Calneva hotel. We were very...
