I have stayed at this hotel twice in the past year on my way either to or from Utah to visit National Parks. Yes, there are lots of name brand hotels in Ely (Days Inn, Comfort Inn, etc) but this one is very historical and just plain fun. Room is fine if you are staying one night, bed comfortable. No... It's an old hotel, but that's why it's a place with character. The memorabilia and old news articles on the walls tell the history of the hotel, which is amusing to watch and read. The rooms were small but clean. And the fluctuations in water temperature were okay, not as bad as the signs on the wall in the bathroom... More

On a cross country drive we stayed at the Hotel Nevada. The pluses are very friendly and attentive restaurant staff, reasonably priced and tasty meals and it's an interesting hotel with lots of memorabilia and old photos. The minuses are that the rooms are fairly small as it is an older hotel and not everything has been updated. Also, there... More

Loved this place. For 45 bucks you get a comfy bed in a classic old casino hotel, a complimentary beer, a complimentary (small) margarita, and two free blackjack bucks. Some of the rooms are filled with pictures and memorabilia from celebrities who have stayed here in the past. I had the Hoot Gibson room. You don't know who Hoot Gibson... More

We stayed overnight in this charming and fading rose. What a nice night. Very inexpensive, $44 including tax. Two bed, clean room homey and quiet. Friendly folk from town and managing the hotel. Had a pleasant evening, lots of beer, free chili dogs. Really enjoyed this tiny frontier casino. For those who must have five star accomodations and judge all... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our.stay in the charming, historic hotel. While it is not of the standards of a modern, contemporarily designed hotel that often rate a 5 star review, it honestly reflects the 1029 heritage. There are many artifacts on display that depict this period in history. Our room was simple and extremely clean and comfortable--an incredible value at $40... More

We were traveling from Vail to San Francisco and traveled Hwy 50 through Ely, NV. Our daughter had recommended the Hotel Nevada from her previous trip. It was wonderful old-time, small town hotel/casino fun! A taxidermist has gone crazy in the hotel registration area, which being an animal lover was a bit hard to see but it reflects the area.... David O. Reviews Regarding David O’s two reviews dated January 4, 2012, it is difficult to address this incident without knowing all of the facts. For an example, all of the maids use vacuums. If Gail, the Head Housekeeper needs to talk a maid, she may very well have raised her voice before the vacuum was turned off. Eye rolling... More

We reserved two adjoining rooms, one for us and the other for our three children. The rooms are extremely small. There was no space in the bathrooms to store anything. The water went hot and cold as we showered. We requested rooms that were non-smoking on a non-smoking floor, which we were given. Unfortunately the entire night smoke coming into... More

This was a fine place to stop for a night's rest, some food, a drink at the bar and some gambling if you wish. The rooms have comfortable furnishings but are very small. As everyone has already written, it was built back in the day, so space requirements were different. As others have said, it's quirky. But you can't beat... More
