What a treasure of a place, so Cape May quaint. Very central, lovely clean rooms, The hostess was full of charm, had a totally long breakfast where we got to know the other guests. Would recommend to anyone.

We had a very nice time! Harriet is a very experienced and helpful hostess and innkeeper. The breakfast is self-serve, ample, and delicious, with one hot entrée, a cake or sweet bread, toasting bread and/ or English muffins, cereal, fruit, etc. The room was very functional with a refrigerator, TV, and a comfortable and clean bed. For Cape May, which... More

Well, me and my wife have been staying here for years. I think I've been in each room, which are charming, clean and super comfortable. This 3 story B and B built in 1872 is very affordable, located in the perfect spot and has a beautiful 2nd story porch with views of historic JACKSON ST. and Beach. Speaking of the... More

We have stayed at Poor Richard's twice now, and we are hooked. You cannot beat the location, a block from the beach and 2 blocks from the Washington street shopping area. Our room was clean, nicely decorated and comfortable. Harriet is a great host who helped us out with all of our questions and needs. The parking is off site,... More

Poor Richard's Inn provides a stress free, laid back vacation atmosphere. Harriet, the innkeeper, is always friendly and helpful. She is a fantastic artist and displays her artwork throughout the inn. The rooms are comfortable, not over done and cheerful. One of the best bargains in Cape May without all of the fuss, and only a block from the beach.... More

This Is our third consecutive year staying at Poor Richard's Inn for our annual Cape May Vacation. We have had accommodations in two different rooms and both have been very clean and nicely appointed. Park your car and forget it. The location is fantastic! The breakfasts are varied and quite satisfying. Lovely porches for relaxing. The innkeeper, Harriet, is friendly... More

My sister and I went to Cape May to attend our nephew's graduation from the US Coast Guard Boot Camp. At the very last minute our elderly aunt decided she would accompany us. I called Harriet and she couldn't have been nicer about adding her to our reservation. She helped us so much in getting around Cape May and making... More

I just returned from a visit to Cape May where, for the third summer in a row, I stayed at Poor Richard's Inn. If Harriett Sossen has a room available, her inn will always be my choice when visiting Cape May. Harriett makes you feel so at home and goes out of her way to provide for the needs of... More

Poor Richard's was recommended several years aago & it is now the only place that I will stay when I go to Cape May. Harriet is a wonderful hostess and her place feels like home. Her artwork fills the walls, her rooms are all decorated in a comfortable Victorian style, and the general atmosphere is welcoming and comfortable. Harriet provides... More
