Very old, historic and unique Inn. However from the inside staying there as a guest, you find that the Inn needs upkeep which is not being done. Carpeting is dirty, torn, many holes in the hallways. Upstairs porch looks run down and chairs not taken care of on the porch, its kind of a forgotten area.. Air-conditioning units within the... More

I love Cape May, so just being in town is enough to put me in fabulous mood. Having said that, I'm of the opinion that having a comfy and clean room is just as important as having a pleasant destination. The Inn is lovely, if tired. If you can get past the threadbare carpets and faded wallpaper, you will enjoy... More

My husband and I booked a fifth-floor "premier" room (#92) for a two-night stay, and were satisfied with our accommodations. Granted, the room was simple (furnished with a "mission" style bed, chest of drawers, dresser/mirror, bedside tables, and a more modern futon, plus a bamboo armoire), but it was clean and comfortable, was a good size, had a clean basic... Recently needed a room for 2 day's due to Family emergency, The Inn and staff were there for me, not only could they squeeze me in with out reservation's but were also sensitive to my troubles. Got to thank Kerri, Connie, Jamie and Peter for making a very bad weekend easier to handle THANKS VERY MUCH.

We spent one night at the Inn of Cape May. Booked a "suite." I understand it's old, historic, etc., but my goodness, they really need to do some renovations. The carpets were terrible -- worn, tattered and dirty. The full size mattress in the 2nd room was old and either the floor was on a slight slope or the mattress/bed... More

Arrived expecting to stay in a charming Victorian hotel room instead we were greeted with a dark and dreary lobby and a room that was just totally disgusting for the money. The only thing Victorian in the room were the lamps (see pics below). Have stayed in hotel rooms all over the world and have to say this one was... More

Inn of Cape May was disappointing. Granted, I stayed off season, but the Inn itself was less than appealing on the inside. The outside begs you to come in and the restaurant has a good reputation (it was closed). I had a corner room with a king-sized bed and had better sheets in boot-camp 40 years ago. The mattress was... More

What a beautiful old Victorian Inn. This hotel is full of charm. If you are in to history, than this is the place to stay. It is over 100 years old, so don't expect it to look like one of the character-less modern day hotels. Breakfast is included, and the food is excellent. The porches are great for viewing the... More

Disappointing! Old and decrepit hotel. Very basic room for the price. Torn carpet. Need a total renovation. Shame as there are so many beautiful B &B in this lovely town. I would not recommend this hotel nor the front desk staff who were quite rude.

Yes, it's 118 years old but no excuse for torn carpets, peeling wallpaper, a shabby mission style futon (a futon in a Victorian hotel, really?)and torn window shades. I tripped over the power cord to the Zenith tv. Probably the worst craftsmanship and upkeep I have ever seen. Any place where they installed modern comforts, like a new toilet, they... More
