My husband and I had a fantastic, relaxing time at the Mainstay Inn. We could not have been happier with our selection. Cape May is a charming Victorian beach resort, and Mainstay is a perfect example of the historic, gracious ambiance of this lovely community. Our room was spacious, private, and very comfortable. Everything one needs to feel at home... More

My husband surprised me with a trip to Cape May for my 50th bday. He booked us the Windsor Room at the Mainstay Inn and Cottage. Dianne went above and beyond her managerial duties by having champagne and roses in our room upon arrival. The Inn is meticulously clean-the faint smell of lemon furniture polish was a welcoming scent upon... More

Stayed here for the weekend. Actually we had the whole cottage to ourselves and two other couples. It was very enjoyable. The Inn was very comfortable, The porch is fantastic. Very close to the beach and to the center of town. Breakfast was ok. Very quiet rooms! Neat history. Beautiful grounds. Off street parking is available. Sitting in the parlor... More

This place is great. Nice breakfast spread in the morning. Clean rooms and nice ambiance. The cupola is a neat little spot, if you're brave enough to climb the steep steps. Quiet nights and rocking chairs on the porch. Ideal location and wonderful owner.

The Mainstay is a great B&B. There is a lot of interesting history with the property. The brunch is very good and the inn has one of the best porches to relax on. The grounds are beautiful as well. It is a short walk to the beach, and the inn provides you with chairs and towels, so even less thing... More

Thanks to the Mainstay Inn not only was my 30th birthday amazing, but they also helped me resolve some issues with the City of Cape May in obtaining a marriage license. I can not thank everyone there enough for the help in making both of the important moments of 2012 possible! The afternoon tea was amazing as well as the... More

Ever since I saw the pictures of the Gibbons room of this Inn on the website a year ago in Japan, my strong determination has always been to visit Cape May and stay at this particular room, if I ever visit the US again in the future. I was deeply fascinated by the Inn, the room, and its atmosphere. This... More

Stayed on Dec 1st, 2012 in the Grant room. Loved the high doors, windows, etc. Once we got into the room we couldn't believe the size. Staff was very friendly. Warning: Dallas cowboys fan. Location was perfect. Short walk to many restaurants and shopping. Very clean. Definately the place to stay.

My husband and I stayed in the main house in the Henry Clay room which was absolutely gorgeous and meticulously clean. The room was decorated with beautiful furniture and had tall windows with lace curtains blowing in the breeze on a stormy day when we arrived. Definitely not a beach day so we headed to the Mall (shopping district) which... More
