I've been trying to visit Africa Relish for the last three years, but somehow it didn't happen. Maybe, because I'm not a "desert person" and that kept me away. When I finally came to Prince Albert to visit African Relish I was struggling again with the heat and at the same time loving the place. The cottage is a traditional... More

We stayed in Akkedis cottage, 2 bed, 2 bath. It is on the outskirts of the town, a pleasant 15 minute walk to the centre. The accommodation is by no means luxurious, in fact, apart from the beds which are fine, it is not even comfortable. There are no outdoor comfortable chairs. The fridge door wouldn't close properly and barely... More

We stayed at one of their cottages for 4 nights & attended a cookery course which was amazing too. Some of the cottages are outside town but we were lucky enough to be in the town, which is beautifully preserved with some lovely architecture. We stayed in Deurdrift 1 & just loved it. Apart from lacking in hangers it was... More

We stayed for two nights in Deurdrift 2 when it was pushing 40 degrees C and we were grateful for the air-con in the bedroom. Along with the attached Deurdrift 1, these are traditional Karoo dwellings with thick walls, wooden floorboards and ceilings with a covered stoep and garden at the back. Interior design is top-notch with 'Philip Starck 'ghost'... More

Nicely appointed cottage with self catering facilities; we liked the setting so much that we chose to buy breakfast at the supermarket just so that we could enjoy the garden while eating;only thing which would have been nice was an extra bathroom but this is hardly do able; just to make people aware just one bathroom

We loved our cottage in Prince Albert and also had a chance to check out the one next door, which was equally beautiful. They are old traditional farm homes transformed into elegant vacation accomodations whiles keeping their Karoo roots. The bed was comfy, I loved the deep soaking tub and could have happily spent much longer there. We loved the... More

The staff buzzed around us, we lacked for nothing. The location was excellent, with mountain views, ghosts, flora and fauna. I was at African Relish for a cooking course on French Bistro. What a wonderful way to spend a few days, not only with an apron around my waist, but with such hospitable people. I shared a refurbished farmhouse with... More

What a lovely place to stay! While in Prince Albert we stayed at the 'Akkedis' cottage. This old homestead has been beautifully restored to retain the authenticity of the building while catering for all modern conveniences. The home is beautifully decorated with unique keepsakes and artworks that give it a homely feel. The spacious bathrooms are a particular highlight. We... More

If you want to stay in the lap of luxury, but relax and unwind in the privacy of your own chalet... chose one of African relish cottages. They are beautifully decorated, with sumptuous furnishings, delicate china kitchenware and all the luxuries of a hotel, but with the privacy and comfort of home. The kitchens are fully exuipped for self catering,... More
