New televisions and very clean. Restaurant onsight and it was very good too. Vary nice man at front desk allowed us to park there even after we checked out so we could go to flea market store across the street.

The motel is a one-story structure. It was quiet and the rooms were clean. The heavy wooden furniture and Mexican tiles in the bathroom give the motel an unique feel that fits in well with the historic home of the small community of Capitan.

I also have a hard time giving this one even one star. When we turned the a/c on, dust went everywhere. The sheets were dirty. Carpet dirty. Squeaky mattresses. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL!!!!! Booked a king bed in a non smoking room. Got a full bed in a room that smelled like a basement ashtray. the shower literally was a pipe coming out of the wall with no shower head. I tried to cancel and get my money back but that of course was a no go.... More

I've stayed here before - and left a review down below. Not much has changed - for better or worse. The room was ok. Bathroom is still "icky". It was a large bathroom, yet there was NO counterspace, and nowhere to put your stuff as you dressed for the day. You certainly didn't want to lay your toothbrush down anywhere.... More

We booked a room for New Years weekend at the Smokey Bear motel. Their rate was much higher than advertised because of the holiday, but that was expected.
